this is how clever my family are at planning mini-vacations:
mom, aunt and me have decided to visit my cousin annelie this weekend. annelie lives in a small city outside of gothenburg. i want to spend some time in gothenburg. mom want to spend some time in gothenburg. all is well. until we mention this to my cousin who sort of paused before asking: "but, hrm, you do realize gothenburg is currently under siege due to that huge, european conference taking place?"
apparently, we managed to pick the one weekend this summer where gothenburg is closed down, stores boarded up, helicopters whirring over head and the few still open streets filled to the brim with people demonstrating. brilliant, i know.
oh well. :)
