There is also a link for grants and an online store that sells mathematics related books and kits. National Council of Teachers of English http://www.ncte.org The elementary section of this web site has articles for elementary English teachers, announcement on winners of recent English rewards and grants, articles on literacy instruction, opportunities to join English committees, and English contest students can enter. National Council for the Social Studies http://www.ncss.org This web site has links to notable social studies books, opportunities for professional development, teacher standards and curriculum standards, teacher resources, professional resources, and a worth watching section that notes upcoming television programs that are related to social studies. National Science Teachers Association http://www.nsta.org The elementary section of this web site includes journals for elementary teachers, a teacher to teacher section where teachers can post questions and receive answers from other teachers, a discussion board, public announcements, and teacher resources that include free kits and tape and links to science web sites. Babel Fish- An Online Translator http://babelfish.altavista.com This is a free online translator that translates simple sentences or web pages from one language into another. This site is every useful for zero-English students or to write notes to zero-Engish parents. |
