You walk along the slightly marshy coastline until you come to a large pool connected to the sea. Splashing around inside the pool is a strange-looking equine creature. An aquatic equine creature. It stops its splashing and looks up at you with wide red eyes. You get the distinct impression of curiosity from the tiny animal, as if it wonders what you're going to do next. Its gaze suddenly shifts from you to a spot behind you and a little to your right. Standing there is Jennalyn, watching the little one in amusement.
"So wandering traveler, I see you've found my kaiyoko pool and met its first inhabitant, Spicescent. She's an earth-type kaiyoko of cinnabar essent. Even though her essense may be of earth, I found her markings like enough to some spices I use that it became a part of her name. Also the fact that she forever smells of cinnamon. An accident when I brought her home, you see. Before I had a habitat ready for her, she got into a bottle of my more magical spices and could not be rid of their fragrant scent. Hence the second half of her name." |
