| When night is fully fallen and moonlight bathes the leaves in a silvery sheen, Morgan stops at what appears to be the entrance of a large cave. Then turning to you she nods and slowly fades back into the forest. You look at the cave's entrance. It could be dangerous, but you've become too tired to care. Besides, you doubt the unicorn would have led you into danger and left you. You walk inside and promptly collapse in a corner. _________________________________________ You wake in a soft, comfortable bed filled with what you suspect are downy feathers and lay there for another few minutes, wondering how you got there. Slowly crawling out of the bed, you look around a bit then leave the room. You're now in what you assume is the main cavern. At least, it's the one you'd been in when you collapsed, but it was much larger than it had seemed in the darkness. One wall seemed to have been carved into hundreds of shelves, all crammed with books. They tower over everything else and you get the strong impression that whoever lives here is a devoted reader. And judging from some of the titles, a magic user too. Near the shelves is a small, cozy reading area. There are several plush chairs, crowded sidetables, and stacks of book, all arranged to provide a very pleasant setting. |

| You hear a polite cough behind you and quickly turn around. Standing there is a young girl of no more than sixteen. She wears a long, white, hooded robe that can't quite conceal her long pinkish hair and sparkling blue eyes. She smiles at you and you get the impression that she's had this happen before. "Greetings visitor," she says in a quietly musical voice. "Welcome to my home. I am The Dragoner's Apprentice, but please feel free to call me Jennalyn. I tkae it that the lure of fantasy and adventure has brought you here." When you nod she continues. "Well then, you are indeed most welcome. You see, I have opened up a sanctuary for creatures of many worlds as a part of my training to take on the duties of The Dragoner. It is ever growing and will always gain new refugees. Some come from overpopulated areas, looking for space. Others merely seek a change of pace, a different life. I shelter and care for them all in my realms. If you'd care to, I could open a portal for you to travel to one of them." Considering this offer, you accept and take the portal to another realm. |
