For the past three years I have had the pleasure of working with Jennifer McDonnell. As the intern for Canadian Living Online in 2000-2001, Jennifer was responsible for the production and testing of the daily Canadian Living Television html pages, research and writing of one feature story per week, and various archiving duties.

I was so impressed with Jennifer's performance that when a position became available at the new Mochasofa.ca site, I recommended her as the ideal candidate. She assumed all responsibility as editor of the Leisure & Pastimes and the Work & Money channels of the site, and took on the customer service duties as well. She became a much-loved and respected member of the Mochasofa editorial team, and helped build a very successful new brand.

When we needed an editor for the Canadian Living Web site in the spring of 2003, I requested that Jennifer be assigned to work on it as I knew she would do a fabulous job, which she did. She was able to create compelling content, both text and images, on time and on budget. She worked tirelessly during the relaunch of the Canadian Living site, putting in many extra hours.

Jennifer is a meticulous, efficient and creative worker. She requires minimal supervision and exercises good judgment about when to ask for guidance. Her writing skills are excellent - the stories she wrote needed little editing. A self-starter, she taught herself new software programs such as Adobe GoLive, Adobe Premiere, and Macromedia Dreamweaver.

She tackled challenging assignments with enthusiasm . For example she produced Canadian Living's first online exclusive fashion video from initial planning to video shoot to editing in Adobe Premiere and writing the final copy. Her versatility and willingness are remarkable.

Jennifer has made a great impression not only on her fellow Web team members, but on the Canadian Living magazine staff in whose midst she worked. I have no hesitation at all in recommending Jennifer for new media writing and editorial positions. I will truly miss her.
