| Chip's WE Work Socks in Gray Flecked Off-white, Color # 152, size 4 needle |
| Norwegian Pines socks: These are another mix of yarns. Used Woolease in varigated greens and blues, small amount of a white tweed wool and Lana Moro Mohair in green on size 2 circular needle. Did 5 rows of green 2 x 2 ribbing changing to the woolease for 8 rounds, total is 1 3/4 inches of ribbing. Two knit rows before adding a 2 stitch fairisle pattern for contrast and interest. Drop the white and continue on for an inch in the woolease. Basketweave pattern is 4 purl, 2 knit for 4 rounds, 4 knit, 2 purl for 2 rounds, 4 purl, 2 knit for 4 rounds then knit for another inch before changing to green mohair 1 x 1 ribbing for an inch and a quarter. Change back to woolease for two rounds knitting before starting Dutch heel, found in N. Bush's Folk Socks, turn heel and do gusset decreases and knit plain for length of foot till wedge toe decreases start ( Wedge toe found also in N. Bush's Folk Socks.) I had fun knitting these |
| Cabled Basketweave Socks Socks knitted with Samband Wool Tweed in white with Gray & Blue strands and Tweed in Blue with Gray & white strands, Woolease Gray for Heel and Toes on Susan Bates #4 Circular Needle, 11 1/2". Using a 2 x 2 ribbing, Basket Weave Pattern for Cuff with an 8 Stitch band with 4 stitch Cable going down the back to the bottom of the round heel, slip stitch heel flap. | Desert Grass Socks Wildfoote Desert Grass, double strand, Co on 44 stitches on size 4 needles, 2 x 1 ribbing for 2 inches changing to k3, slip 1, every other row for desired length for cuff, slip stitch heel flap to desired length, round heel continuing slip stitch thru gusset decreases, continue cuff pattern on instep stitches for desired length. Finish with desired toe |
