| Chapter 22: Basically I feel it's talking about becoming one with yourself and being positive with things or else bad things will happen and you will be unhappy. It talks about being humble and not being selfish and boasting. 24: This chapter almost seems to continue with 22 in that it's emphasizing not furthering ones own point or stance before listening to the other side first and not being too prideful or boastful but showing through living. 25: I think this chapter is talking about Heaven and Earth and an Almighty being or God that this person is unsure who it was or is yet knows something exists out there and is all powerful and all Great. 32: This seems to be ttalking abou Tao in it's spiritual mystical sense in that it is neither here nor there but everywhere but not a thing, it is constant but without a name. It is what keeps things going. 37: In this chapter it's as if it's saying that Taoists never do anything just for the sake of doing it. They must have a purpose in doing things for them to do them. 49: Basically it's stating to treat others as you want to be treated, if someone treats you wrong still treat them right, don't treat another the wrong way only because they treated you wrong. 53: This continues in it's telling of being unselfish and being not boastful even with the religion of and in itself to not be boastful of the religion. It is to be modest and peaceful. 56: This seems to be talking about showing ones religion by example rather then by words and that one who merely speaks the Tao doesn't really know it. Someone will live by it and by example to show others what the Tao is. 77: This I feel is talking about not taking things you do not need and not being so overwhelmed with possesion that that becomes all who you are. It talks about giving instead of recieving only and not being a possesionist. 79: In this chapter it is talking about not holding grudges after two people have resolved a conflict for it will inevitably cause problems and keep the supposedly resolved conflict going forever and ever and no one will learn anything from it and it will prevent those two from being fully happy. |
