- July 28, 2009: SIGH. Geocities is closing for good, so the site will be moving and have a new home at http://members.shaw.ca/jemjukebox/
The new site is not live yet, but will be soon. Unfortunately, the files will be offline for a while until the new site is ready. Check there for updates. It's just as well because Geoshittys deleted the Stingers/Misc/Karaoke files AGAIN anyways, so there you go. Blah blah, you know the rest. See you in a few months.
- February 14, 2008: Jem's Starlight Jukebox celebrates ten years online! Woo-hoo! Thanks to all who keep visiting since we started, I have no idea how many people have been here. We've tried and replaced so many webcounters, storage facilities, etc that I lost count. But we are still here, and even though real audio is a total dinosaur, the site still works and you can relive your Jem musical memories here, and that's the whole point.
So enjoy your stay, thanks for coming by and here's to another ten years.
- August 7, 2006: Well, obviously the DVDs for the final part are not coming. And I'm boiling mad at Rhino. I rant about it here, but it's not pretty I tells ya.
- June 8, 2005: Haven't been doing much, but I did hear that Part 2 of Season 3 is held up because the licensing rights ran out before Rhino could get it together. Sigh. So no idea when we will see the final part of the series on DVD. Keep your fingers crossed.
- September 26, 2004: Season 3, Part 1 has finally made its was to stores shelves and Amazon are sending out copies...long after the release date. More info on the extras to come.
- August 7, 2004: Cover art for Season 3, Part 1 has been released. Check out the DVD page for a peek and a listing of episodes. The official release date, according to Rhino, is now September 14, 2004. The official extras are going to be announced soon, hopefully.
- July 30, 2004: Apparently, the next DVD box is being pushed back to September 14, 2004.
- July 15, 2004: Well, it's official! Jem Season 3, Part One DVD set is going to be released on August 31! And the easiest way to make sure you get a copy is order it online here (Canadian residents) or here (US residents).
- June 14, 2004: Apparently, "Family Is" wasn't working, but it is now. Better version too.
- June 13, 2004: Well, I finally got off my butt and reposted the tracks that got deleted from this site. Thanks to everyone who wrote and kept bugging me to do it. Also fixed "Last Laugh" link too. To make up for the long delay, I've also re-uploaded the tracks that were in the Karaoke Lounge - they haven't been online for over 2 years now. Hope you all enjoy them.
Also, this excellent piece of news was posted yesterday on the super cool TvShowsOnDVD.com site:
Jem! - 3rd Season on the horizon
Posted by David Lambert
06/12/2004
Good news for fans of Jem! cartoons! Word has leaked out that the final group of episodes in this series - the 3rd season consisting of 39 episodes - WILL be coming to DVD either in late 2004 or early 2005.
Rhino hasn't said yet whether this will be in a single box set, or if they'll split them into a pair of half-season releases as they've done with Transformers and G. I. Joe. However, you CAN expect a similar level of supplements as we had on the first release.
Stay tuned, and we'll have more for you about this just as soon as the info becomes available.
Wooooo-hoooooooooooo! I love Rhino. More info about this DVD release will be posted as soon as I get it. Thanks again to everyone for hanging around and have yourself a good summer.
- May 24, 2004: Ok, I suck too. I have been meaning to get the files back up that Geocities erased a while ago. Unfortunately, life gets busy and I can't spend the time I'd like to on fixing the site. But I will make an effort to fix that - I'm going to make time this week and get the tracks back up. Thanks to you who still visit this site, looking for the files. Also, as the time allows, I will probably update some of the versions of the songs since the DVDs are out now...however, I probably won't undertake that until all the ep's are released. Hey, don't have the DVD's yet? Get 'em here, here, or here.
- March 7, 2004: SLSHSHSHHHSHHSHSH. Hear that? That's the sound of Geocities sucking. I had no warning and didn't realise that 2 of the pages for the songs were deleted - thanks Geocities! You guys suck. True thanks to the Jem fans for writing and letting me know. Fortunately, the accounts were still active so I will re-upload the files within the next day or so. Only 3 weeks til Jem on DVD!!
- February 21, 2004: Added info about the DVD Box set's cover art, special features and episode list. Read about it here
- September 13, 2003: WOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOO!!! Jem is coming to DVD! YES! Read all about it! This is so excellent, I can barely speak. Many, many thanks to those who made it happen. Everybody buy 2 copies!
- November 24/02: Let's face it, folks. Jem is not going to return on TV anytime soon. Why do I believe this? Well, TV executives only rerun old shows now if there's a topical reason to - like the new Masters of the Universe TV show will get the old one back in circulation. The Josie and the Pussycats movie got the show back on the air (for a little while anyways). So unless Jem gets a big time update, don't expect to see it on the tube.
The alternative to this problem, is to sign up with www.tvshowsondvd.com and vote to get the Jem series released on DVD as a niche product. The guy who runs this site sends voting information to studios, and sometimes the studios listen and release the show - that's why you're seeing stuff like Sanford & Son, The Jeffersons, Felicity, Once & Again and more on DVD now.
So try it! You have to register, but it's free. Thanks!
- May 26/02: 3:47 PM: I'm happy to report that all the Hologram, Stingers, Misfit & Duet/Misc tracks are back online. The Karaoke Lounge will reopen soon, as will the return of the Wallpaper (with the correct url).
- May 26/02: 2:55 AM Late nite update: Holograms & Stingers files are back online...the rest should be up tomorrow (later today that is).
- May 25/02: Well, blow my lips off - it's our new home! Actually, this is our OLD home...I vacated Geocities a long time ago for various reasons. I still feel the same way about Geocities (and it's ain't nice, I tell ya) but I have no choice if I want to keep this site online. I hate to see old sites die, so like Disneyland, this is going to be an online active museum of sorts. There won't be any new features, but hopefully everything will still work (cross my fingers).
Even though not all files are up yet, I'm making this URL public now so you all don't think the site will never come back. Check back on the main page (and this page) for updates as the files are available. Thanks.
- May 23/02: CARP Defeated! Yes! This means Internet Radio will stay the way it is, for the time being.
- May 11/02: Well, it seems that Dencity has decided not to host files anymore.
What does this mean? It means the site is down for now. All of the files were at
Dencity, so that means I either have to find a new home for them, or they won't be back.
I don't know what's going to happen right now. Check back for details as I figure things out. Thanks.
- May 5/02: Normally, I don't use this space for my own personal opinions/causes, but I think this is
definitely a worthwhile one. Due to the stupidity of the RIAA, internet radio the way it is now will
be a thing of the past. New recommendations will make it impossible for anyone,
except big-time coporations, to run internet radio stations. Show your support and save internet radio! Thanks.
- April 1/02: The Jem files are back online.
- March 27/02: Sorry, but the Jem files are currently offline. Hopefully, they will return shortly.
- September 29/01: The Egroup has been discontinued. There will be mo nore Mp3s or Remixes.
- May 27/01: New Audiophile selection features the karaoke version of "Only me and the Music". NOTE: all future audiophile mp3s will ONLY be available to the Jemjukebox egroups list. You have to sign up to download them,
but it's free to join. Also from now on, the remixes are also only available at the egroup site. Sorry for those who liked to download them freely, but I don't have room for them all anymore. They are still available and I'm sorry it's a little more work to get them,
but you still can get them. Plus, this means more mp3s in the Audiophile section for you to download, so it's a good thing. Hope y'all like it. *NOTE*: Egroup has been closed.
- April 23/2001: Audiophile section now features "Jealously"
- February 7/2001: Back from Christmas break! Updated Audiophile booth with "Love is Here" in Mp3 only (note: real audio versions are being discontinued).
Also, the mirror site isn't going to have stuff like remixes, karaoke, etc, because it's taking too much time
to update both that and this site. So, from now on, all the extra stuff will be on this main site only (don't worry, most of you only come to this location anyways).
- October 26/2000: Fixed broken link for "Too Much". Remixes are now only available in MP3 (the most popular format anyways). Also now featuring a commercial for JEM from 1984 in the Audiophile Listening Booth (trying something a little different this time!)
