Welcome back once again! This is the first part of the homework for Tables-lesson 5. I would like to take the opportunity on this page to introduce you to something I really like: Poetry! Poetry? you might ask yourselves and think: How boring! Yep that is what I thought when I was younger. Younger? Well I am not that old yet, I am 30, but most people of my age think Poetry is something for old Grandma sitting in her rocking chair or for folks with glasses (btw. I wear glasses....*grin*) and greasy hair. But I don't think so! Poetry is the pendant to music! It can express what you feel and are, that is why (did you realize?) the text to songs mostly is written, just like poetry, with verses and rhymes! Poetry is the song of the heart only without the loud music to it! Well that is what "little me" thinks! During my Days at Grammar School a teacher introduced me to poems written by a great German poet, called Rainer Maria Rilke. I thought and I still think his poems are just awesome. If you click here, you will be taken to the page with the second part of my homework for Tables-Lesson 5 and I will show you my most favorite poem of Rainer Maria Rilke there. I have placed it there first in the original language (German) and then I found a great translation on the www and thought I should put it there too... .....so my friends from all over the world can read and understand it..... Hope you will enjoy yourselves and find, what I have found in that poem. If you would like to read more about Rilke and his poetry, you can visit this great site!
