12/5/01
Final project renderings and source code have been posted.
11/28/01
Second deliverables have been posted below. Again, everything is designed to work under Win2k. No other guarentees. Though the mpeg could, in theory, be played anywhere.
11/19/01
First deliverables have been posted below. This has been compiled and tested under Windows.
11/12/01
We met today. We discussed the datastrutures to use and how to exert a force on a node and things like that. Some random notes are availible here. Tasks to do for next meeting are at the end of the file. That's all.

This website was created. Do the colors bother you? The colors come from the original flavors of JELL-O: strawberry, orange, lemon and raspberry. The green is in there because lime is the best flavour of JELL-O.

Introduction

Our goal is to create a computer simulation of JELL-O so realistic a user might want to reach out and eat it. We intend to model a block of JELL-O using spring networks. The end product will be an animation of something being done to a block of JELL-O such as dropping it. The tools we will use will include OpenGL for quick simulations and RenderMan or BMRT for rendering.

Our initial project proposal is availible here in MS Word Document format.

Deliverables

Deliverables I

Source Code (w/ executable, 1mb .zip file)
    Executable Only (Win32 Executable)
    Screen Shots:

  • Learn spring mesh models
  • Create a simple cube that doesn't move. Use OpenGL to preview
  • Research the physics of JELL-O
Deliverables II
    Objectives:
  • Create a detailed cube
  • Add physical effects such as gravity
  • Figure out the appropriate collision detection and response
Deliverables III (Final Project)
    Objectives
  • Final rendering
