| Ryann woke up around five am, and wanted to see her daughter. She quietly climbed out of bed so she wouldn't wake Jeff, and went down to the nursery. After the nurse showed her how to breast-feed, she was allowed to take Lauren back to her room, so she did. She sat back up on the bed with Lauren in her arms, and she started feeding her. Jeff woke up and saw his wife feeding his daughter. Jeff said, "Good Morning," as he sat up in bed. "What are you doing?" "I'm feeding Lauren. One of the nurses showed me how, and told me I could bring her back here to do it." "What time is it?" Jeff asked. "It is five-thirty in the morning. If you're tired Jeff, go back to sleep." "No, no." "Ok, then you can burp your daughter." Ryann pulled Lauren away from her breast and handed her to Jeff. Jeff put her up by his shoulder and Ryann put a towel over Jeff's skin. Jeff gently was burping his daughter, when Lexi came in. "Oh�" she said. "That is so sweet. Jeff, you actually look like you know what you are doing." "I do know what I'm doing. I'm not completely dense ya know." "Yeah, yeah. So the nurse showed you how to breast feed the baby Ryann?" "Yes. That is the strangest feeling in the world." "It will be, but you'll get used to it. So how are you feeling?" "I am ok. I'm pretty sore, but other than that I am fine." "Well honey, I think I'd be sore too." Jeff said. "Yes, that is to be expected. Let me go get a bassinet for your room, so you can keep Lauren right in here with you. Matt is here with me, and he'd like to see you guys, and his niece. If it's ok, I'll send him in." "That's fine Lexi, thanks." Ryann said. Lexi walked out of the room, and Matt came in a couple of minutes later. "Good Morning." Matt said to his brother and sister-in-law. "Good Morning Matt." Ryann said. Jeff nodded his head at his brother, as he burped his daughter. Matt pulled out his video camera and said, "Let me record this." Matt started shooting video of the proud new parents, and Ryann said, "Matt, turn that damn thing off. It's not even six o'clock in the morning." "Come on Ryann, you and Jeff will laugh at it someday." "Matt, I may have just given birth, but if you don't turn that friggin' camera off right now, I'm going to get up and kick your ass." "Now, now Ryann. No need to get your panties in a bunch." Matt said sarcastically as he turned off the camera and set it down in the chair. "Can I hold Lauren?" "Sure." Jeff said. Matt walked over to the bed and took his niece from Jeff. He started talking to her as Lexi came back into the room with the bassinette. "Oh, that's so sweet." Lexi said as she put the bassinette near the bed. "What?" Matt said as he looked at his girlfriend. "Nothing, you just look really sweet with Lauren." Lexi replied. "Do you need anything Ryann?" "No, I am ok." Ryann told her. "Ok, I am going to get back to work. Let me know if you need anything at all." "I will. Thanks Lex." "No problem." Lexi said as she walked out the door. As soon as she was gone, Ryann sat straight up in bed and looked at Matt, who was sitting down a chair with Lauren. "What?" Matt asked when he noticed Ryann staring at him. "So when are you going to ask her?" "Ask who what?" "Ask Lexi to marry you." "I don't know. I want it to be perfect for her." "Just ask her." Jeff piped in. "You know that she loves you." "I know�" "So take her out to a nice dinner, and ask her. You know she is going to say yes, so just do it already." Ryann told him. "I will. I'm going to go down and grab something to eat from the cafeteria. Do either of you want anything?" "No thanks." Ryann said. "I'll go with you." Jeff replied as he slid out of the bed. Ryann got up and took Lauren, and Matt and Jeff headed down to the cafeteria. Lauren was sleeping, so Ryann placed her in the bassinette and crawled back into bed. Within five minutes, she was fast asleep. Ryann woke up at noon, and Jeff was sitting in the chair burping Lauren. She looked over at him and smiled. He noticed she was up and said, "Hey sleepyhead. I think your daughter wants to see you." Jeff got up and carried Lauren over to the bed and placed her in Ryann's arms. He bent down and gave his wife a kiss. "How are you feeling honey?" "I am ok." "Matt's going to propose to Lexi tonight. He's going to take her to Vito's in Southern Pines for dinner and propose there." "Really? That's great. I am so happy for them." "Me too. I am glad that Matt has finally found somebody that he wants to share his life with." "Does your dad know he wants to marry Lexi?" "Not that it matters, but he has mentioned it to him once or twice. When I was over at dad's the other day, Matt told him he was going to buy a ring for her." "What did your dad say?" "He told Matt to do whatever makes him happy. All that my father has ever wanted was to see Matt and me happy." "I know. I am just glad that Matt is happy. Didn't he just buy some land from your dad?" "Yes. He told me he's going to build a house. And you know Matt, by the time it's done it will be this huge mansion." "That's Matt." "Well, enough about Matt. When do I get to take you home?" "I'm not sure. We'll have to ask Lexi when she comes in. I hope soon though." "Me too." "Jeff?" "What?" "Aren't you supposed to wrestle?" "I already talked to Vince and he said that I only have to do TV on Monday, and then I can start my vacation. And, he said congratulations." "So you'll leave tonight?" "No, I'll fly out Monday early afternoon, and catch a flight home after the show." "Did you call my parents yet?" "Yes honey. I called them last night. I told them that you'd call them as soon as you and Lauren were released form the hospital and home safe." "Ok." "Anything else?" Just then Ryann and Jeff heard "Knock, knock." And in walked Lexi. "Hey Lexi, when can my wife and daughter get out of here?" "Not until tomorrow Jeff. How is everything?" "Good." "Ok, I just wanted to stop in and say hi and make sure everything was ok. They are coming around with lunch now, so you should have lunch soon." "Thanks Lexi." Jeff spent the rest of the day at the hospital with Ryann, and then went home to check on the animals and get some rest. He had promised her that he would be back first thing in the morning to take her and Lauren home. |
