| Lainey was up bright and early Saturday morning. She ran downstairs and made a pot of coffee for her and her sister. She opened the front door to see what it was like outside, and saw what appeared to be Jeff�s brother�s car. �That couldn�t be Matt�s car�� Lainey thought. �Whose is it?� She walked back inside and made her coffee. After she drank a cup, she fixed one for her sister and another for herself. She had both in hand and walked upstairs. She kicked open Cassidy�s partially closed door, and walked in. �Cass, I have coffee for you.� Both Matt and Cassidy sat bolt upright in bed, and Lainey screamed. The mugs of coffee went flying into the air, and then crashed on the floor. Lainey turned around and left the room, shutting the door behind her. �Oh my god! That IS Matt�s car. What the hell is he doing here with Cassidy?� Lainey ran down the stairs and made another cup of coffee. She wanted to make sure she was awake for the explanation she was going to get from the two of them. A few minutes later, Cassidy came downstairs in her bath robe, carrying the broken mugs. After she threw them in the trash she fixed herself a cup of coffee. She turned around and saw Lainey sitting at the table. �What the hell is going on Cass?� �Calm down Lainey.� �Calm down? You want me to calm down? I go upstairs and find you in bed with Jeff�s brother. How the hell did that happen?� �That�s really none of your business.� �Really? Then why is it that you have made it your business that I am friends with Jeff?� �Because I am not the one who is after the freak!� �Jeff is not a freak! You don�t even know him. What is the big deal with what he looks like anyway? Matt looks like a girl with that mop of hair he�s got going on his head.� �Lainey, you wouldn�t know a good looking guy if he came up and bit you in the ass!� Matt had gotten dressed and made his way downstairs. He walked into the kitchen and stood between the two sisters. �Ladies, Ladies. Calm down. Why are you fighting?� �Why are you here Matt?� �Because your sister is my girlfriend.� �And how did that come about? When did the two of you meet?� �We met at the store on Wednesday night.� Cassidy said. �When I went down to get you the Smirnoff. Matt thought I was you, and said hello. We got to talking and he asked me out.� �Yeah�� Matt said, agreeing with Cassidy�s story. �After I found out she wasn�t you, I decided to ask her on a date.� �So let me get this straight. The two of you met Wednesday night, and it�s now Saturday morning, and you are sleeping to�� Lainey was interrupted by a banging on the door, and a female voice screaming, �Come on Jeff, open this fucking door, I know you�re in there!� Cassidy, Lainey, and Matt all looked at each other. �Uh oh.� Matt whispered. �What?� Cassidy asked. �That sounds like Lizzie.� �What is the big deal? Jeff isn�t here.� Lainey said. She walked over to the door and opened it. �Can I help you?� �Where the hell is my boyfriend?� �Who are you looking for?� �Jeff Hardy. I know he�s here, his truck is outside.� �I�m sorry, but Jeff is not here. I think he is in New York City.� �He�s here, his truck is.� �Look, I don�t know who you are, but if you�re that insistent about it, you can come in and search the house yourself. Jeff is not here. He and I were in a car accident on Tuesday, and he let me borrow his truck for the weekend so I could get back and forth to work. I�m Lainey.� �Oh�so you�re the slut who�s fucking my man.� �I am not fucking Jeff. Who the hell are you?� Matt had walked over to the door, and said, �That would be Jeff�s girlfriend, Lizzie.� �Matt, is Jeff here?� �No Lizzie, he�s in New York. He had a show last night.� �Well, I am going to take Jeff�s truck home then. Where are the keys?� Lizzie asked. �Uh, Jeff lent his truck to me for the weekend.� Lainey replied. �And you won�t be taking it anywhere unless Jeff tells me that it�s alright.� �Jeff will be fine with it.� �Well, let me call him just to make sure. I doubt that he�d offer to let me use his truck, and then have you take it from me.� Lainey really did not like Lizzie. She now understood why Jeff was so frustrated with her. She walked inside and grabbed the phone. She called Jeff�s cell phone, and he answered it, sounding like he�d just woken up. �Hello?� �Jeff?� �Yeah�� �Hi, it�s Lainey.� All of a sudden, Jeff sounded wide awake. �Lainey, how are you?� �I didn�t mean to wake you up. Your girlfriend is here at my front door�� �Are you serious?� Jeff asked. �Yes, and after she insisted that you were inside, and that the two of us were having sex, she is now demanding the keys to your truck so she can take it back to your place.� �Lainey, I told you that you could borrow the truck. Don�t let her take the keys.� �Well, I told her that she wasn�t taking the truck anywhere before I talked to you. Will you please tell her that I have permission to use the truck?� �Put the friggin� bitch on the phone.� Lainey took the phone away from her ear, and walked over to the front door. �Jeff is on the phone, and would like to talk to the friggin� bitch.� Lainey handed the phone to Matt, who in turn handed it to Lizzie. �Hello?� �Lizzie? I gave Lainey permission to use my truck this weekend. So stop being a bitch and leave her alone.� �I cannot believe you Jeff!� �You�re the one who is harassing this poor girl for no reason at all!� �I am going to get the keys from her and I am taking the truck home.� �No Lizzie, you�re not. You are going to leave Lainey�s house and go home, or go wherever. At this point, I really don�t give a shit. Just leave her alone. She hasn�t done anything to you. If you want to be pissed off at somebody, be pissed at me. I am the one you are mad at anyway.� �Fine Jeff, whatever. I hope you and your whore have a nice life together, because as of right now, it�s over between us!� Lizzie turned the phone off and slammed it on the counter. She was headed off the steps and Cassidy barged her way through Lainey and Matt and yelled, �Hey Lizzie!� Lizzie turned around and faced Cassidy. �If you so much as give my sister a dirty look, you can bet your ass that you�ll be answering to me. Now get the fuck off my property before I have to come down there and remove you myself.� Lizzie flipped Cassidy off, and returned to her car. Cassidy was trying to go after her, but Matt held her back. �Cassidy, she�s not worth it. Calm down.� �I am telling you Matt, I will kill that fucking bitch if she harasses my sister.� �I understand�� Matt said, �but let her go for now.� Cassidy wanted to go out onto the lawn and beat the living hell out of Lizzie, just for coming over and starting trouble, but Matt calmed her down fairly quickly, which surprised Lainey. The three of them went back into the house and sat down at the kitchen table. The phone rang, and Cassidy answered it. �Hello?� �Hi Lainey, its Jeff.� �This isn�t Lainey, hold on a second.� Cassidy handed the phone to her sister. �It�s Jeff.� �Hello?� �Hi Lainey. Did Lizzie leave?� �Yes, she did. My sister threatened her, but she left.� �I am so sorry that you had to deal with her. I should have told her that you were taking the truck.� �Don�t worry about it Jeff. But have I got some news for you!� �What?� Jeff asked. �Well, did you know that your brother and my sister are dating?� �What did you just say?� �Matt and Cassidy are dating.� �When did that happen?� �They told me they met at the store the other night. I had no idea until I brought Cass�s coffee to her room this morning to wake her up, and I was the one who got the surprise.� �They were in bed together?� �Oh yes�� �Let me talk to him�� Matt said, and held his hand out for the phone. �Matt wants to talk to you Jeff. Hold on a second.� Lainey said, and she handed the phone to Matt. While Matt was talking to his brother, Cassidy looked at her sister and asked, �So what happened here the other night?� �What do you mean?� �The sofa is ruined Lainey, what happened?� �Jeff and I painted the basement with the black light paint.� �What happened on the sofa Lainey?� �Nothing. We came upstairs and watched wrestling. I saw your man wrestle. Do you know that Matt has a heated toilet seat?� �No I did not.� �He also sleeps in the� never mind, you already know that.� �What are you talking about?� �When Matt comes out to wrestle, he has what he calls Matt facts, and they come up on the screen.� �Oh, okay. Well, I want to see the basement.� Cassidy headed to the basement door, and opened it. She turned on the light, and walked down. When she saw the paint everywhere, she said, �Lainey, we were going to paint the walls, not the floor, the ceiling, and everything else!� �I know. Jeff and I were splattering the walls. I went to splatter the wall, and Jeff was standing in the way. I hit him with the paint instead of the wall. Then he threw some at me. We ended up painting each other instead of the wall.� �Well, you are going to be the one to clean this mess up, I am not doing it.� �I didn�t say you had to Cass. I�ll do it tomorrow, I have the day off.� �Fine.� Both girls went back upstairs, and Matt was still on the phone with Jeff. �It just happened. Look, I�ll talk to you later; I�ve got to get going.� Matt hung the phone up. �Jeff said he will give you a call tonight after the show Lainey.� �Okay. I am going to go upstairs and take a shower. I�ll see ya�ll later.� Lainey left the room, and Matt walked over to Cassidy and pulled her into his arms. �I have to leave this morning, to wrestle.� �I understand.� Cassidy said. �So you have a heated toilet seat?� �Yes, how did you know that?� �Lainey told me she saw it on TV Thursday night.� �Oh, the Matt Facts�� �I guess.� �So are you going to give me your number so I can call you while I am gone?� �Yeah.� Cassidy grabbed some paper and a pencil out of a drawer, and wrote her number down. �Can I have yours?� Matt took the paper and wrote his number down for her. The two of them shared an intimate kiss, and then Cassidy walked Matt out to his car. �I will be home Wednesday morning, and I hope that I can see you.� �I have to work evening shifts all next week, so call me when you get back in town.� �As soon as I arrive, I�ll give you a call.� �Alright�� Matt gave Cassidy another long kiss, and got into his car and left. Cassidy went back inside and closed the door. She sat at the table, taking in everything that had happened. She never intended things to go that far with Matt, nor had she thought that she would actually develop feelings for him so quickly. Cassidy started cleaning up the kitchen and Lainey came downstairs, all ready for work. �All right Cass, I am leaving. I will see you� sometime I guess.� �Have a good day sis.� �You too.� Lainey went out the door and headed to work. Cassidy went upstairs to get herself together, and ready for work. |
