Top 2: Castlevania Symphony of the Night

I love simplicity, and one game keeps thing really simple and yet stays as one of the best games on the already dead PSOne and of course top 2 in my list. That is the classic, well acclaimed series made by Konami, Castlevania.

Castlevania has always been a series that showed that 3D is not everything, 2D is still good. In old games, we always are treated to the Belmont Clan and their undying efforts to take down Count Dracula (not Bram Stoker's mind you..) in his home, Castlevania, a legendary castle filled with lotsa enemy monsters and stuff. Redundant it is, but it never gets stale since the gameplay has always been challenging. This game, though easier than most of it's predecessors, still manages to become one of the best Castlevanias in history.

The story takes place after the Super NES' last Castlevania game, Castlevania X. Alucard (Dracula spelled backwards), Dracula's rebellious son, takes matters in his own hands and plans to rid his father's evil once and for all. Though not possesing a whip as the previous heroes did he's no slouch in the offense department, or in the defense. He can equip swords, shields and a myriad of magical weapons that he finds by defeating enemies and looking around the castle. Also, he can acquire new spirit helpers to help him (obviously) and the new forms of wolf, bat and mist to help him transcend into evil's home. And just when you think you beat the game, think again...
