Like my favorite movie of all time is "End of Evangelion", my favorite anime of all is it's series rendition, "Neon Genesis Evangelion". The motif of the entire anime is just so interesting and good for me to resist.
Once again this follows the story of what happened because of the 2nd Impact in 2001, but of course follows it in a very detailed fashion.
It starts with an invitation.... Shinji Ikari received an invitation from his father to go to Neo Tokyo, a more futuristic Tokyo. Upon reaching the the techno city, he comes to witness helicopters fighting a monstrous alien-like being. There a woman picked him up and explained the situation. Her name was Misato Katsuragi. She introduced him to NERV, a highly secret organization made by the Russians and the Chinese to combat the entities called the angels. There, Shinji also realizes that the head commander of the organization is none other than his father. Things came to be and he became the "proud" pilot of the Evangelion, a monster-like robot that could also bleed if it were hit.Thus, started "Neon Genesis Evangelion". The anime is not your traditional robot anime. Not that many explosions or move name calling, more on bloodshed and questions on man's existence. This is one anime that needs to make us think due to it's complexity. But, because of that, it is proclaimed to be one the most grandiose animes in existence.
