Kalyway Hackintosh How-To

Okay, so you want to have Mac on your PC for some reason. Whatever reason. And you either have tried and failed multiple times or you are a newbie who really wants to get a nearly foolproof guide.
You will need:
  • A computer (preferrably Intel Core 2 (Duo), but other processors work too with patches)Here, Intel > AMD
  • a DVD
  • Windows Vista(if you want a good dual boot)
  • EasyBcd (optional, for lazy people who don't want to use command line BCDEdit)
  • A daring ego.DON'T BLAME ME FOR ANY KIND OF DAMAGE OR HARM FOR YOUR COMPUTER

First of all, if you were wondering, this guide is ONLY using the Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD. Find it yourself by going on ThePirateBay, searching for "Kalyway 10.5.2". Download the one called "Kalyway_Leopard_10.5.2_DVD_Intel_Amd". Open the .torrent in a BitTorrent client of your choice (I prefer Transmission) and wait for it to download. It may take from 4-5 minutes on a T3 line(which you probably don't have) to around a week on a 56k modem (which you probably don't have as well. well, at least I hope you don't have). It's around 3.7 gigabytes, and it took me about 6 hours (and no, I don't have cable or T1. Just ADSL[the normal kind]) Once you have that downloaded, burn the "Kalyway_10.5.2_DVD_Intel_Amd.iso" to a DVD using Roxio or Nero or whatever iso burner you want. ImgBurn is a great free iso burner. Just download it, install it, and open the .iso with a DVD in the drive. Then, just burn the ISO. Okay, now comes the unusual part. Press WindowsKey+R to open the "Run" box, and then type cmd. A cmd box will pop open on you screen.

Okay, so now you have it open. Type Diskpart and hit enter. Wait for a few seconds and a "DISKPART>" prompt will appear.

Enter the commands:
( '//' indicates comments)
  • list disk   //Shows you all the physical hard drives on your computer
  • select disk x   //x is the physical hard drive you want to install Leopard to
  • list partition   //Shows you all the partitions on that hard drive.
  • select partition y   //y is YOUR WINDOWS PARTITION.You are going to shrink it to make space for Mac.
  • shrink desired=n   //n is the size in MB you want your Leopard partition to be.
  • create partition primary id=af   //if you want to specify a size for the partition, add size=z  before "id=af"

Now you have a nearly ready-to-use OS X partition.
