The China Adventure

My name is Jeffrey Mahn and this site is about my experience as a volunteer in Yantai, China through the WorldTeach program. I taught oral English at the Overseas Chinese Middle school from February 2000 till December 2000. I had an amazing experience both as a teacher at the middle school and as a foreigner living in China. 

I have put this web site together to share with you some of the experiences that I had and some of the things that I have seen.

I kept a journal during my time in Yantai that was emailed to my friends and family. You can find copies of the journal entries here in PDF format. You will also find a background regarding my decision to volunteer and pictures from my experience.

This site also has several pages devoted to Yantai, the Overseas Chinese Middle School, my friends in Yantai and my travels through China. I also wrote a guide to China that is linked to this site.
