Jeff
"Bubblehead" Ellis passed away suddenly in October of 2000 while
in his sleep. He was 30 years old.Jeff was a great friend and a great person
with many great qualities. He had many friends due to his outgoing nature,
and friendly mannerisms. Jeff was a driver for UPS for quite a few years,
and through this work, he was able to meet alot of people.
Jeff was also and avid weightlifter, having been the first person to bench
press 500 pounds in the Harlan area. He had bench pressed as much as 515 while
in training, so you can see, he was a very strong young man. I worked out
with Jeff for over two years, every day, five days a week, and the workouts
bordered on being unimaginable. We would always call each other later that
evening and talk about what we had done, and laugh about how sore we would
be. I really do miss those talks. Jeff loved to lift, and it showed in his
workouts.
Jeff was also a Harley Owner, having owned a Harley Electra Glide like the
one pictured to the left. He rode alot with friends, and by himself. His last
big ride was with his friend "Scrap Iron" across the United States
to the Sturgis bike rally, and up to the state of Washington. He loved to
ride and did it every chance he got. He brought back pictures of state signs
that he took every time he crossed a state line. This was something he really
enjoyed, and he would treat that bike like it was family. He kept it in a
heated building, and was always shining it up.
