• RAM (Random Access Memory)
  Used by the computer to store information temporarily. Information that has been cut or copied is stored in RAM.

• ROM(Read Only Memory)
  The ROM memory can only be read by the computer.

• Saving

• Scanner
  A device attached to a computer that can copy images or text and store them on the computer's hard disc. Very similar in operation to an office photocopier.

• Search Engine
  Used by Internet programmes to carry out specific searches on the Internet.

• Software.
  Software is made up of different programs stored on discs. Click here for more information on programmes.

• Spreadsheet
  A programme used to calculate numbers. Microsoft Excel is the most common spreadsheet program but there are a number of others such as those found in the Lotus programme suite.
