Urashima Keitaro is a third year ronin who suddenly finds himself as the manager of a girl's dormitory. There he meets Narusegawa Naru, also a third year ronin. Both are striving to get into TouDai (Toukyou Daigaku or Tokyo University) as fulfillment of a promise. When Urashima was young, he met a girl in Hinata Sou (Hinata Inn, presently the girls' dormitory) whom he promised to go to TouDai with because it is said that if two people get to TouDai together, they can achieve happiness. It is this promise of 15 years that Urashima is trying to fulfill.
Enjoy as Keitaro and the gang get into all sorts of mischief and adventures as they try to live together "peacefully" in Hinata Sou, in search of the girl of his promise.

Review
Full of conflicts, subplots, and ambiguity. Love Hina has been dubbed as the ultimate fan boy's dream. Urashima, who considers himself a loser, a klutz, a good for nothing, a ronin, among others, seems to have hit jackpot when he landed job as kanrinin [manager] of Hinata Sou. What male wouldn't like to live in a house surrounded by five cute girls 24/7?
Though Love Hina is most popular because of its ecchi undertones, its story is about hope, courage, honesty, decision, and keeping one's promises. Keitaro has fallen in love with the obstinate Narusegawa during their stay at Hinata Sou, but what would happen when the girl of his promises shows up? Will he abandon his promise with Narusegawa to get into TouDai together? Will Narusegawa fight for Urashima, whom she has also fallen in love with despite her denying it?
Love Hina is one of the most entertaining animes to watch, and is definitely worth the time to stick to it until the end. Though some viewers might get weirded out by mecha turtles hehe.
Recommended for people with an open mind and heart to accept the people of Hinata Sou, for all their eccentricities.
Also features a soundtrack you can just fall in love with.
Note: the series doesn't formally wrap up the story so you have to watch the Winter Special, then Summer Special, then the 3 OAV's. It's worth it!
