All Terrain Armored Transport (AT-AT): A combat and transport vehical - an Empire juggernaut - the immense four-legged "walker" is as much a psychological weapon of terror as an actual weapon of destruction. More than fifteen meters tall and twenty meters long, this nearly unstoppable behemoth looks like a giant legendary beast from the dark side. Despite its lumbering gait, it can stride across a flat battlefeild at up to sixty kilometers an hour and lob heavy laser fire from the cannons mounted beneath its "chin" while providing supporting fire from two medium blasters on eact side of its head. It can kneel to within three meters of the ground and offload forty heavily armed troops and five speeder bikes - or other weapons - from rear assault ramps. The AT-AT is the Empire's ideal battlefield vehical.
These heavy assault vehicals have both the heft and mechanics to march through most defenses. Their thick armor plating shields them from all but the heaviest of artillery fire. Their heads can rotate up to nintey degrees left and right ans thirty degrees up and down, providing the commanding officer, pilot, and gunner with a sweeping view of any battlefield from the command deck. AT-ATs are usually among the first vehicals to enter a combat zone. Their heavy, stomping feet can cause the ground to shake even before they appear, frightening and demoralizing the enemy.
Based on ancient technology and at first deridied by many Imperial officers, the AT-ATs have proved themselves on the battlefield. They were chiefly responsible for the rout of the Rebels during the Empire's assault on Hoth base.
All Terrain Scout Transport (AT-ST): These relatively lightweight and speedy vehicals are used by Imperial forces for reconnaissance and ground support for both troops and the larger AT-AT walkers. Although smaller than AT-ATs at about 8.6 meters tall AT-STs are much speedier:On flat terrain they can move along at a ninety-kilometer-an-hour clip.
The two-legged "chicken" walker has a small but highly maneuverable armored command pod that houses a pilot and a gunner. Each leg has a sharp claw that can slice throughnatural or artificial obsticles. With just two legs and a gyro balance system that is highly susceptible to damage, the AT-ST is more prone to tipping over than the AT-AT, but its flexibility and fire power make it a strong addition to the battlefield.
Scout walkers are often used to lay down a blanket of covering fire for Imperial ground troops and to defend the flanks and somewhat vulnerable underbelly of AT-ATs. Its two-man crew enters and exits through a hatch atop the armor-plated command cabin.
B-wing Starfighter: Admiral Ackbar, with the help of skilled Verpine shipbuilders, personally designed the B-wing spacecraft. It played a major role in the Rebel Alliance victory at the Battle of Endor. One of the Alliance's most heavily armed starfighters, the B-wing in effect is one long, flat wing with an unusual "floating" cockpit at one end and one of the ship's three ion cannos at the other. About midway on the wing two airfoils extend out during combat, giving the ship the appearans of a cross, or with some imagination, the letter B. Because of its unusual gyrostabilization system, the cockpit remains steady while the rest of the ship rotates around it, giving the pilot a stable field of fire. Designed to go head-to-head against much larger Imperial ships and disable them, the B-wing has also been used as an escort for X-wing and Y-wing fighters. In addition to the ion cannons, there is a laser cannon mounted to the cockpit, two proton torpedo launchers, and two small blaster cannons. An enhanced model, such as the one Ackbar uses personally, has an expanded command module with room for a gunner. Along with other changes that have made the ship faster and tougher, this hassubstantially increased its combat success rate.
