Jean Rogers in
Always In Trouble (1938)

Summary:   Arranging to leave her father J.C. Darlington behind, frisky teenager Jerry convinces Pete Graham, from her father's New York office, to pilot the family yacht. They're recently rich, but thoroughly spoiled, including Jerry's mother, Uncle Ed and attractive older sister Virginia; however, a mishap strands them on an island where they're held captive by a band of smugglers.

Eye On Jean:   This movie was made about the same time as "Flash Gordon's Trip To Mars." Jean Rogers would have been 22 years old. Her role as Virginia Darlington is more interesting than Dale Arden in "Trip To Mars" because she has more to do and say. Also, I think that Jean looks better in this movie because her hair is a bit longer. I don't know why the length of her hair never went below her shoulders like in the first "Flash Gordon" movie. Perhaps it wasn't in style during the 1930's and 40's, but it would have been nice to see that look on her more often. Buy this movie if you want to see a very attractive Jean Rogers in a light comedy. Jean Rogers is the lead adult female actress, but the star of the movie is a child actress named Jane Withers, who is a bit annoying and reminds me of child actor Gary Coleman of the television show "Different Strokes."
