Mystery House Walkthrough




Directions:
S - South
N - North
E - East
W - West
D - Down
U - Up

The game starts with you being in front of the large house. GO STAIRS or U to get to the front door. OPEN DOOR and GO DOOR to enter the house. There are seven people in the entry hall: 5 men and 2 women. TAKE NOTE, READ NOTE, DROP NOTE. Once you have entered the house, the north door is off-limits, and you are locked in with everybody else. (Dun dun daaa!!)

Anyways, now go south (S) to the dining room. GET CANDLE and go north (N) back into the entry hall. Go west (W) into the kitchen. OPEN CABINET. LOOK CABINET to see a box of matches. GET MATCHES. You can CLOSE CABINET if you want to. From this point, the game will start telling you that it is dark outside. When this happens, LIGHT CANDLE. If you do not do it soon enough, the entire place turns pitch black, and you have to restart the game. OPEN REFRIGERATOR. LOOK REFRIGERATOR to see a glass pitcher. TAKE PITCHER. You can CLOSE REFRIGERATOR if you want to. LOOK SINK to see a butterknife. GET BUTTERKNIFE. You now need to start filling the water pitcher. Type WATER ON to turn on the faucet. GET WATER into the pitcher to fill up the pitcher. Don't mess with the stove. GO east (E) back into the entry hall.

Go east (E) into the old dusty library. There is a note here. TAKE NOTE, READ NOTE, DROP NOTE. OPEN DOOR and go east (E) into the side yard. Go south (S) once into the backyard. LOOK at the dead BODY. Poor Mechanic Sam! OPEN DOOR to the house and GO DOOR to enter the dining room again. LOOK ROOM to explore the dining room. Oops! You just started a fire with your candle! Quick! Use your pitcher and POUR WATER onto the fire. Take a deep breath of relief and LOOK HOLE. There is a small key here. TAKE KEY and go north (N) back into the entry hall.

It is time to go up the stairs. GO STAIRS. You are now at the junction of a west-east hallway and a north-south hallway. The west-east hallway can be tricky to maneuver around because all the doorways look the same. There are two west rooms and two east rooms. Go west (W) once. GO DOOR to enter the old nursery. LOOK at the dead BODY. Poor Dr. Green! GO DOOR to exit back into the hallway. Go west (W) once. GO DOOR to enter the boy's bedroom. There is a note here. TAKE NOTE, READ NOTE, DROP NOTE. GO DOOR to exit back into the hallway. Go east (E) twice. You are at the junction again. Go east (E) once more, and GO DOOR to enter the large bedroom. Woah! A large dagger was just thrown at you! Scary, wasn't it? Calm down ... and let's continue! *smile* TAKE DAGGER and GO DOOR to exit back into the hallway. Go east (E) once, and GO DOOR to enter the small bedroom. LOOK at the dead BODY. Poor Seamstress Sally! A strand of blond hair ... hmm. GO DOOR to exit back into the hallway. Go west (W) twice to the junction.

Go north (N) once to the stairs. GO STAIRS to get to the attic. TAKE HAMMER that is lying on the floor. Don't mess with the ladder for now. GO DOOR to enter the storage room. Use the key you got from the hole in the dining room to UNLOCK CHEST. Now OPEN CHEST and LOOK CHEST to see a gun. Considering that there is a murderer on the loose, it would be a wise decision to TAKE GUN. Now, GO DOOR to exit back into the attic. GO STAIRS to return to the north-south hallway. Go north (N) once, and GO DOOR to enter the study room. There is a lovely picture here tacked on the wall. Pictures are always hiding something, so USE BUTTERKNIFE to loosen picture. TAKE PICTURE and PRESS BUTTON. A secret passageway! Don't get all excited yet. You will use it later. For now, go east (E) to the bathroom. LOOK at the dead BODY. Poor Butcher Bill! To die in such an "interesting" manner! TAKE TOWEL hanging next to the sink, and GO DOOR to exit back into the study room. Go north (N) once and then go south (S) twice to the junction. GO STAIRS to return to the entry hall.

Go west (W) to the kitchen. It is time to find another secret passageway. MOVE CABINET to reveal a brick wall. The bricks are old and crumbling, so if you use the hammer, you can BREAK WALL to make a hole. GO HOLE. GO STAIRS to a north-south hallway. Go south (S). LOOK at the dead BODY. Poor Plumber Tom! Unusual flower he has in his hand, isn't it? TAKE KEY on the table. At last! You just found the key to the main door! Don't run out yet! You're not done! Near the left side of the screen is another hole in the wall. GO HOLE to get into the hole. Go north (N) to the large pine tree. Climb up (U) the pine tree. There is a telescope here. LOOK TELESCOPE to see a trapdoor in the attic. So that is what the ladder is for ... interesting. Climb down (D) twice. You are in the forest now, and it is a terrible place to get lost. Every screen looks the same! Go north (N) four times and then go up (U) to bump into the kitchen's door. OPEN DOOR and go up (U) into the kitchen. Phew!

Go east (E) to the entry hall. GO STAIRS to the junction. GO north (N) and GO STAIRS again to return to the attic. Aha! There is that trapdoor! OPEN TRAPDOOR and CLIMB LADDER to get into the tower. Yikes! It's Daisy the disgruntled cook! She looks quite unhappy, and that large cleaver in her hand makes you quite uneasy. She is going to kill you! Quick! KILL DAISY -- WITH GUN. The murder scene is quite grotesque, so shield your eyes as you press the ENTER key if you are queasy. ;-) Just kidding! There is another note here. TAKE NOTE, READ NOTE, DROP NOTE. GO TRAPDOOR to exit back into the attic. GO STAIRS to return to the hallway. Go north (N) and GO DOOR to enter the study room again. Now let's use the secret passageway here. It also goes down to the basement. GO WALL and go down (D) twice to the basement. There is some nasty algae growing on the wall there. Using your towel, REMOVE ALGAE from the wall to see a loose brick. TAKE BRICK to see ... omigosh ... the jewels! GET JEWELS.

You are almost done! Now all you need to do is to leave the house. Go north (N) to the stairs. GO STAIRS and GO HOLE to re-enter the kitchen. Go east (E) to the main entry hall. Use the key from the basement to UNLOCK DOOR. OPEN DOOR and go north (N). GO STAIRS to leave the house.
