The Dagger Of Amon Ra Characters

Steve Dorian

Steve Dorian is an artist in training who has a stevedore job to help pay the bills. He's a good looking young man, who is quite taken by Laura and vis versa. He tends to attract a lot of women, Olympia first, (so she can look at his scars), and then Yvette, so he is actually seen very little, until the end, when Laura finds him at the bottom of a coal shoot and the two escape together.

Dr. Pipin Carter

Dr. Pipin Carter is the man who originally found the Temple Of Amon Ra in which the Dagger resided. He is very snobbish and self centered and he can talk of little but himself. He is a relative of the man who disvoered King Tut's Tomb Howard Carter. (I loved this twist!) And he even states that it's incredibly difficult having relatives in the same line of work. Carter is the first to die, with a gift shop dagger stuck into his chest by Det. O'Riley and left in a mummy case.

Watney Little (Dr. Archibald Carrington III)

Watney Little is the criminal that murdered the REAL Dr. Carrington and posed as him to complete the art scandel with the Countess and Ziggy. He was the man who actually stole the Dagger Of Amon Ra, under the direction of Det. O'Riley. They would replace the real paintings in the Old Masters Gallery with forgeries and then would sell the old ones, then they were going to slash the new ones. He was murdered by Det. O'Riley in his own office and thrown over a stuffed porcupine and with the last of his strength, he wrote 'C.P.' on the desk in his own blood informing you of where you can find Watney Little's case file, in a copy of Crime And Punishment.

Detective Ryan Hanrahan O'Riley

Det. O'Riley is responsible for all the crime that goes on in the district designated in the game, including the robbery of the dagger, which he was rather vague about in his report. He loves grapes and was previously married. He was having an affair with Yvette, which is what sparked the murder of her, jealousy, because she was sleeping with another man. Everyone else he murdered was for financial gain or to cover a previous crime. He was also involved in the robbery of the Dagger Of Amon Ra, and he's the one who convinced Little to take it in the first place. He is eventually caught between the teeth of 'Rex' the museum dinosaur as he chases Laura and Steve, then while he's in prison, he swears revenge on Laura, (perhaps for a third game?)

Yvette Delacroix

Yvette is a long time employee at the Leyendecker Museum, and was involved with several characters in the game, including Det. O'Riley, Ramses Najeer, Ziggy, Ernie, Watney Little, and she hit on Steve, Wolf and Dr. Carter, before his death. Although she was sleeping with so many men, she admits to Laura that she only ever loved Ernie. She's very much like Fifi from the Colonel's Bequest, in the way that she's a player and isn't ashamed to show off her body. (Is there a problem with that?) She was also good friends with Dr. Meeklos and feared the Countess. Yvette was eventually strangled to death and preserved in plaster by Det. O'Riley.

Countess Lavinia Waldorf-Carlton

The Countess is the widow of the previous museum owner, Dr. Carrington II, who died under mysterious circumstances, mere months after the two were married. When Laura reads Dr. Carrington II's diary, she learns that both he and Yvette feared the Countess and at his death, he was planning to change his will. The Countess is a money hungry, self centered, biatch and she was also involved in the art scandel with Ziggy and Watney Little. She is the last character to die and she is killed by a leathal cobra bit, her last word, is "O'Riley", giving away the murderer's name at last.

Dr. Ptahsheptut Smith

Dr. Smith was orinally in America to gain the return of the Dagger aswell as other artifacts taken from the Temple Of Amon Ra, to his home country of Egypt. He was constantly arguing with Dr. Carter about the Dagger, and was suspected on numerous occasions as being the murderer and thief, although it turned out that he has nothing to do with them. Dr. Smith was one of the few who escaped the murderer's evil grip, however if you answer all the Coroner's questions correctly, he'll admit to being a member of the Amon Ra Sun Worshippers, and seeing Det. O'Riley gun down several other members.

Earnie Leach

Earnie was the caretaker in the Leyendecker Museum with a fencing job on the side. He was also a gambler and owed a great deal of money to a Lone Shark named Ice Pick. He and Yvette were very intimite together and told eachother almost everything, she was also trying to get more money for him to help pay back his debt. In my opinion Earnie was a very nice character, and it's a shame he had to die. He was drowned in one of the alchohol vats in the basement at the hand of Det. O'Riley and then thrown over the Mastadon's tusks.

Lawrence "Ziggy"

Ziggy is your typical Speakeasy kinda guy. He hangs out in speakeasies, has a tight lip, which he only opens for money or for a friend, (or a friend of a friend). He's probably never worked an honest day in his life and he's always getting in trouble with the police. His death is one of the more grusome in the game, he is decapitated, and then the beak of a teridactal is stuck through his back, by Det. O'Riley.

Wolf Heimlich

Wolf is the Security Gaurd at the Leyendecker Museum. He's very strict and is obviously based on the typical image of a German soldier during WWII. He has a short temper and is quick to assume things. He and Olympia are involved in an intimite relationship and they are apparently married after the game ends. Wolf worked very closely with Det. O'Riley on the murder investigation and it's no suprise that he wasn't killed as he's probably quick with his hands and a lot stronger then the Detective, but it is a suprise that he never suspected the Detective himself, having worked so closely with him.

Dr. Olympia Myklos

Dr. Myklos is an employee of the Leyendecker Museum and is absolutely fascinated with things other people would consider disgusting, or weird. She loves looking at bones and scars. (One reason she is atracted to Wolf). She is a good friend of Yvette and has a pet cobra named Barney that is the eventual killer of the Countess. At the end of the game, she and Wolf apparently get married and have a son. In my personal opinion, Olympia awesome and one of the greatest characters in the Dagger Of Amon Ra!

Rameses Najeer

Rameses is an Egyptian Lawyer, who's living in New York with his wife. He's a friend of Ziggy and the leader of the Amon Ra Sun Worshippers. He came up with the quiz "What room do you leave without entering?" And "What room do you enter without leaving." Yvette is the one who found the chamber for the cerimonies and she demands a certain "payment" from him, which he reluctantly agrees to, only for the good of his cult of Sun Worshippers.
