The Characters Of King's Quest
The Bad Guys
The Good Guys

King Graham Of Daventry has been with us since the beginning. His family includes his wife, Queen Valenice, his daughter, Princess Rosella, his son, King Alexander and, of course Alexander's wife, Queen Cassima. In KQ1, he recovered the three magical treasures and was crowned King. Then in KQ2, he sought out and rescued his future bride Valenice. KQ3 reunited him with his long lost son, Alexander and in KQ4, he suffers a heart attack, and is heroically saved by his daughter, Rosella. In KQ5 his family is stolen from under his nose by the evil Wizard Mordack, but, of course, he gets them back, AGAIN. This is obviously a man of many talents. In KQ6 he sees his son, Alexander married and made King of the Land Of The Green Isles. KQ7 however, is the only King's Quest where Graham doesn't make an appearance, which is almost a disappointment, since he is one character who's presence we could almost depend on.
King Graham is a kind and wise King and father and under his rule, Daventry has prospered as has his family. His family is quite important to him and when they were taken from him in KQ5, he was devestated, but worked hard for their rescue. In my view, King Graham is the best character in King's Quest, because he is kind and generous, but he still acts almost humble.
Graham's history before his coming to power is shrouded in mystery, and unless another game is to surface revealing his origins, it will most likely remain that way forever. None the less, King Graham is a good man, with a kind heart, no matter how he got to be that way.

Queen Valenice Of Daventry is one of the most respected women in the known world of King's Quest. She helps her husband King Graham rule Daventry with a firm yet gentle hand. She is one of the most beautiful women in Daventry and King Graham fell instantly in love with her on first sight through the magic mirror.
She made her first appearance in KQ2, as King Graham's love interest and the damsel in destress, which was perhaps not her most flattering role. Her next appearance was in KQ3, being reunited with her long lost son Alexander and in KQ4, watching over her dying husband. It wasn't until KQ7 that she really got a good peice of the action which the rest of her family seemed to soak up. Up until that point, she'd been almost a bystander, but in KQ7, she bore her teeth so to speak, while searching for her daughter and trying to save Etheria from Malitia. I like her character quite a bit, but thought a few parts in KQ7 were a little too sappy and "motherly". I'd like to see her in future King's Quests with a less girly side, showing that she is more then just a wife and mother.

King Alexander of the Land of the Green Isles, is the son of King Graham and Queen Valenice and the twin brother of Princess Rosella. As a baby, he was stolen from his crib by the evil Wizard Manannan, who brainwashed him and made Alexander his slave, Gwydon. Ss Mannanan had done many times before, he planned on Alexander's 16th birthday, to zap him into an oblivion, but Alexander interviened, and turned his captor into a cat! (Meow?) He then returned home to Daventry and found that Rosella was being held captive by a dragon and he valiently saved her, reuniting the family.
That all took place in KQ3, and Alexander didn't make another major appearance again until KQ6, where he travels to the Land Of The Green Isles to seek Princess Cassima's hand in marrage. Finding that she was betrothed to the Vizier Alhazred and that her parents had been killed infact by the Vizier! Alexander valiantly saves Princess Cassima, bringing her parents back to life in the process and the two are wed, being crowned King and Queen of the Land Of The Green Isles.
Princess Rosella made her first appearance in KQ3 as the helpless victem of the dragon. Luckily, after that, her character was given much more important roles. In KQ4, she saves her father from the dark clutches of death and releases the Land of Tamir from the evil fairy Lolotte's grip. In KQ7, after jumping into a pond, she's whisked away to a magical land, where she's turned into a troll!! After returning to her regular form, Rosella gets up to the mainland, and saves the land from distruction by valcano, set of by the evil enchantress, Malicia.
So far, Rosella is still single, but she has several promising prospects, there's Edgar, whom we first meet in KQ4, then later appears in KQ7. And I've been hearing rumors about Connor, the newest addition to King's Quest, but if this rumor is substantiated, I have no clue who she'll choose!
Connor is the newest addition in KQ8. He has no connection to the Royal Family we are accustomed to which, I admit makes me a little skeptical, but I'm sure there must be some connection as there was with Gwydion (Alexander) in KQ3. There is a rumor, that Connor and Princess Rosella will marry, but I think Edgar is a more likely prospect. I know little more, then that Connor's from Daventry and, while everyone else is turned to stone, he is spared and must collect the peices of the Mask Of Eternity in order to save his kingdom.

Queen Cassima, is the wife of King Alexander and ruler of the Land Of The Green Isles. Her first appearance was in KQ5, in Mordack's castle, she was a servent, when her father had refused to allow Mordack to marry her, (she wouldn't consent herself), he kidnapped her and made her his slave. After being rescued by King Graham, she met Alexander, (Prince at that time), and the two fell in love. She invited him to visit the Land Of The Green Isles at anytime, little did she know that both her parents had been brutally murdered and that land was being ruled by an evil Vizier.
On returning home, she was struck by the grief, and the Vizier used it as an excuse to lock her in a tower of the castle. He then betrothed himself to her, making his genie take her form. Alexander interviened, (of course!) saving the Princess and bringing her parents back to her, they were then married and crowned King and Queen of the Isles.
