Three years passed since Trunks' arrival. A lot has changed since then, Trunks from the future is now called Miari (future) Trunks since Chibi Trunks is born, and Vegeta joins the Z warriors, but having the same attitude.

Miari Trunks arrives from the future to find that there is another android, Android #16. The androids in Miari Trunks' timeline are #17 and #18. Also the creator, Dr. Gero, turns himself into Android #20. He is easily defeated by Vegeta after he learns how to turn Super Saiyan during his training. Right before he dies, he issues the final command for Cell.

Cell is made of single cells from the strongest warriors in the univerese. Cell breaks out of his test tube and seeks to absorb #17 and #18. When Cell finally absorbs the androids, he turns into Perfect Cell. No one can offer a challange so he starts thinking of a tournament. Cell later announces that he will hold the tournament for the z-warriors that think they can defeat him. The tournament begins.

First, a fighter from Earth, who is really a coward that takes all the credit and is really weak, Mr. Satan or "Hercule". He does all these kicking and punching at Cell, but it didn't have an effect on Cell. He gets defeated easily by on slap from Cell. Then, Son Goku fights with Cell, the battle ends when Goku tires out and picks Gohan to battle next.

So Gohan starts off and they are almost equal. Cell wants Gohan to be really strong so that he can fight a real challenger. So he tries to piss off Gohan by creating seven Baby Cells fight Gohan's friends. So Gohan gets pissed off and turns into SSJ level 2! First he kills all the Baby Cells. Then, he starts kicking Cell's ass really badly. Gohan kicked his ass so bad that Android 18 came out of Cell.

But Cell gets so mad, he decided that he would self-destruct. Goku quickly teleports Cell and himself to a safe distance, like Kaiosama's Planet. He blows up killing both Goku and Kaiosama. Everyone was sad, but the battle wasn't over yet, Cell somehow regenerated from just one cell from his body, and he kills Miari Trunks with a surpise attack. Then Vegeta gets pissed off and does all this stuff to Cell. But it had no effect on cell.

So Cell blasted Vegeta, but Gohan stepped in the way and injured his arm. Then Cell fired a kamehameha on Gohan. Gohan fired back with only the one arm he had. With his father's help, Gohan defeated Cell with only one arm.

After the battle, the Dragon was summoned and restored every life taken by Cell. But Goku did not come back to life, for he decided to stay with Kaiosama. Miari Trunks prepares to go back to his time to kill the androids and Cell. He greats his mother and does what he intended to do.

Meanwhile, all is well now on earth...
