A Life Crisis
In the realm of our existence, with the very essence of
our souls
We amass our dreams in fortitude, and then endeavor for
those goals
With this, the purveyance of our desires, our constitution
does unfurl
It sometimes succumbs to others though, and their dreams
become our world
At some point we might perceive, that our course has gone
askew
But in the name of Eros, Greek God of Love, self preservation
does undo
So we forge on rummaging for perfection, despaired of
our desires
Wandering in an aimless shame, in quest of another’s fires
Until one day we are silenced, by the quandary of our
plight
Then lie in the shadow of our shame, pondering through
the night
With the sun once again in your eyes, yes God staring
you in the face
You think about the last sum-odd years, then abscond
in total disgrace
For “The time has come”, the walrus said, to talk of many
things
Yes into the past you must delve, and forth back you must
bring
Cognizance, comprehension, and voraciousness, renaissance
it is about
A new beginning, the destiny of your soul, and mortality’s
gleam does shout
But in the end you will realize, after all you have put
yourself through
In the beginning the end was in sight, with a paradox
factor or two
And you’re not a horrible person, no there is no monster
here
And those around you love you, it was just yourself that
you feared
