Imagine

In a different time, in a different land
Without the hostilities inbred in man
No hatred, no war, no foolish pride
Imagine life, with no dark side
Living, loving, just being free
No pain, no worries, just my pleasures and me
Would I appreciate the freedom of the ride
Never having known the darker side
No top, no bottom, just one endless plane
Could I treasure the good, without having known pain
It's just a question, a thought that I pose
The dream of it is great, but who really knows
For how do you believe, if you've never known doubt
And how do you cherish, if you've never done without
We cry, we suffer, and yes we've all known pain
It's like appreciating the sun,  for having known rain
So we carry on in spite of the strife
Learning to enjoy the different levels in life
