Once upon a midnight dreary, There I stood my eyes all bleary. 'Mid coffee cup and Twinkie wrapper How I yearned to be a midnight napper! But once upon a morning bright, I'd vowed to clean before the night. Though ambition fled before the noon, I still refused to change my tune. Once upon a dawn less dreary, My whole house shone, spotless and cheery. And though no one would know but I, I claimed a victory with my sigh and woke the kids for breakfast. |
