If you are having some difficulties understanding the Bible when you read it or feel, perhaps, like God isn't listening, speaking to you or answering your prayers, these bible verses might help to give you clearer understanding.
Romans 3:10-11 "There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God."
John 6:44 "No one can come to me (Jesus) unless the Father who sent me draws him."
These Bible verses address the fact that if you are searching out God, it is because he is drawing you to Him. Which means, He is speaking to you whether you recognize it or not. As you continue to listen, you will better be able to discern His voice.
When you see someone seeking God or asking about spiritual matters, God is at work in that person's life and is speaking to them!
I Corinthians 2:14 "The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned."
At first glance, this Bible verse may be somewhat disconcerting, however, not having the Spirit does not mean you can never have it. It is yours for the asking! Simply ask God to send His Holy Spirit to you to help you understand.
Ephesians 2:8 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is a gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
Simply put God saves us because He loves us. It has nothing to do with what we do or don't do. No one is any more or less deserving of salvation than anyone else. We are all children of God. We are all sinners. None of us is perfect. Therefore, there is no one deserving of salvation. There is no one who can enter heaven through good works, as works don't negate sin. However, God sent His Son, sinless and perfect and offered him as a sacrifice once and for all. We now have the choice to accept or reject this sacrifice. The choice to accept or reject God's gift is ours.
Proverbs 3:5-7 "Trust in God with all your heart; lean not on your own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in your own eyes: fear (respect) God, and depart from evil (don't sin).
