Chapter 21, Montebello

After our honeymoon to the Grand Canyon and vistit to my parents and all my siblings, Janet and I moved into a Montebello, two-bedroom, two-bath apartment. I think the rent was 160 dollars a month.
Frustrated by writing, I enrolled in East L.A. Community College, as did Janet.  I was a Spanish Major.
The following summer Janet and I went on a trip to Oregon. We passed through Chico and fell in love with Chico and decided to move there as soon as we could.  We went up to Klamath Falls, Oregon. On our return trip we found the camp grounds in San Francisco area full. We looked at the downtown area of S.F. just for the fun of it. We were walking toward the bus depot and everybody else was going the other way as if some major event had just gotten over.
We wound up driving all night and got back to Montebello the next morning.
After that we got a miniature black poodle for Janet and named her Munyeca.
