Chico I
spr72 - sum76

After two years at East L.A. C.C. , We moved to Chico, California. We drove North until we reached Colusa where we camped out.  We detached the car and I went ahead to look for a place.  I found one. Janet felt I should have allowed her in the decision to take it.
We attended Butte College for a year ant then divorced.
I got a place out in The Little Grand Canyon, with a new 10'x30' mobile home. I replaced  the former resident and handyman,Steve, with his 6' x 12 ' trailer, which pinned him to the ground when he was trying to move it. He parked it in the road nearby for a week.  He showed up in my voice training class in which I learned of my brother's death from my aunt Vi.
By this timeI was no longer in The Little Grand Canyon, but on a four acre young walnut orchard, the only mobile home in the area, and right next the the ex-President of CSU, Dr. Kendal, a silver-haired gentleman from Kentucy, who had a 13 acre walnut orchard which I helped him work.
I had met a young lady, who had a strong influence on my life.  She taught me all about good nutrition. At the same time as I moved out of the Canyon , moved over to Mendcino, California on the coast, south of Fort Bragg.  We continued our friendship and after the walnut harvest was done, Dr. Kendal said I could have what was left.  I must have had two hundred pounds and My friend Pat and I sold them in the Mendocino-Fort Bragg area.
By 1975, Pat and I were not seeing each other and I started working for a rice farmer, Bill Corneliuson, south of Hamilton City, who was another person who taught me much and was a very good friend.
In the winter of 75/76 I moved my trailer onto the Tresler's property in the middle of almond orchards.  They owned and operated a German Shepherd kennel and showed the dogs and had a house full of trophies.
By the spring of 76 my equity in the trailer was equal to my rent for the space and I signed it over to the Treslers.  I stored all my stuff in Bill's barn, and parked my car on his property, and caught a ride with three other students to Nebraska. From Nebraska, I hitch-hiked to St. Louis, Mo.  From there I caught a bus to Tulsa.
