FNA left kidney mass, 57-year old female: carcinoma of the kidney, with papillary differentiation
The smears show many papillary structures, with cells showing round to oval smooth nuclei, with regular chromatin, small or absent nucleoli. Extensive clinical studies failed to detect a primary in other organs, and surgery revealed a localized kydney carcinoma with papillary differentiation.
