Olympic Park, Seoul |
This huge park was made for the Olympics. I explored it 5 times and still never saw everything. The park has Sports Stadiums, canteens, a very big fountain, a large pond with goldfish, so many flags of all countries in the '88 Olympics, monuments, many modern-art sculptures, and even old earthen walls discovered recently but made in prehistoric times. Now there is a subway stop outside. The Park is near Chamshil/Lotte World Mall. There is a great Chili's Restaurant on the way if you walk from the mall. |

A view from the first(very steep) hill you climb in the park. A person can see breathtaking mountains with granite on them which surround Seoul from the top of this hill. Olympic Park is in the Southeastern part of Seoul.

One of the most popular sculptures in the park. Each modern sculpture was donated by a different country participating in the '88 Olympics. The Peace Gate is in the background to the left.

Jen at Olympic Park in early Oct1999. The hill to the right is where you get a view of the mountains and surrounding area. |
