Halifax, NS |

Halifax is a small city of under 200,000 people but is the biggest city in Atlantic Canada. It is a great place to visit. There is a large port, and many historic places(old stone buidings and churches) to see. Halifax has a large influence from Britain and Scotland, but now also has a multicultural influence. A lot of foreigners study there and make a living. You can eat at a Greek or Japanese restaurant, for example, or visit a store selling items from Scotland.
This is an old town clock in the center of the city called the Citadel. It's on a hill which once served as the lookout for the British military in past conflicts. A soldier fort is still there now. You can go to the fort and view the whole city from on top of Citadel Hill. |

Point Pleasant Park is also famous. It's in the South End of Halifax. This is a stone house beside the park. Inside the park you can feed red squirrels, walk to the beach and watch the ocean, discover old British forts, or walk through all the paths in the forest. |
