Chapter 8
Cindy was in the kitchen cooking when the doorbell rang. She whipped her hands on the rag and went to answer the door. She opened the white door and was met with a delivery guy. He was holding two long white boxes tied nicely up with a red ribbon. The delivery guy said her full name after he checked the clipboard that was on the box.

Yes, Cindy replied intrigued.

I have a special delivery for you. Could please sign the paper beside your name? Said the man politely picking the clipboard up and handing it to her.

Cindy quickly signed the paper and gave it to him. He took the clipboard from her and gave her the two boxes.

Have a nice evening and happy valentines day, said the deliveryman before going back to his truck.

Cindy just stared at the truck not knowing from who it was. She slowly walked into the house and closed the door behind her. She went into the living room and placed the two boxes on the table just as her phone rang.

Hello, Cindy answered as she pulled on the red bow and opened the top box.

Hey, did you get it? Tyler asked excitedly.

Yeah, Im opening it right now, she replied as she pushed away the red paper to reveal a beautiful red rose bouquet.

And? Tyler asked nervously.

Tyler! They are beautiful! Thank you so much! Cindy said as she cradled the phone and took the flowers out of the box and went into the kitchen.

Your welcome! You know, its our anniversary and mom and dad wanted to send you something special so I came up with the idea of flowers Its cheesy but you know, Tyler explained.

Cindy made sure her dinner wasnt burning as she talked with Tyler. She placed the flowers on the island in the middle of the room and went into the family room to take her mothers vase. She went back into the kitchen and filled the vase with fresh water and went into the little storage room she had beside the garage and took a cup of flower fertilizer. She went back into the kitchen and saw her three girls in the kitchen.

Hey, I have to go, see you tonight! Tyler said before hanging up

Cindy hung up and placed the phone beside the fridge and kissed Katherines cheek that took care of the diner. Cindy went to the island where Amanda and Martha sat smelling the roses that they had placed into the vase. Cindy poured the powder into the water and placed the cup beside it. She arranged the flowers and smelled the roses.

You have a secret lover I should worry about? Josh asked walking into the kitchen to peer over his twin sister shoulder to see what was for dinner.

Katherine kissed his cheek as he hugged her from behind placing his chin on her shoulder. He watched the meal before walking around the island to stand between his young twin sisters.

No honey. Flowers are from your uncle Tyler, Cindy replied with a smile on her face.

Good to know, Josh replied winking at his mother before walking into the family room.

Cindy shook her head making her two younger girls to giggle. A few seconds later Josh came back with a weird look on his face. Amanda and Martha quieted down as soon as they saw their brothers facial expression. Cindy looked at her son and got worried.

Whats wrong? Cindy asked walking to him.

Theres another box that you havent opened yet, Josh said quietly.

Oh I forgot about it! I had to sign twice so its from someone else, Cindy replied going into the room followed by her four children.

She placed the opened box on the floor. She pulled on the ribbon before opening the box. She pushed away the white paper and gasped at what she saw. The kids went around her and gasped also.

Lawrence! Ryan! Come here, Katherine yelled.

They heard footsteps running down the staircase before the two boys appeared into the room. They walked to the table and looked down.

Whoa! Who sent it to you? Lawrence asked as Cindy took the black dress out of the box.

Just as the dress was out, a white envelope fell on the floor. Ryan picked it up and gave it to Cindy after she gave the dress to Amanda who placed the dress nicely on the white sofa that was behind her. Cindy opened the envelope and took out the card and opened it.

Cindy,
Please meet me tonight at the garden museum at six oclock. Id be happy if youd wear this dress for me.

Katherine took the card and read it over before flipping the card over. She reread the message frowning at it.

All I know is that we have to be at grandmas house at five, who could this be? And why the garden museum? Josh asked not understanding the situation.

I have no idea either baby, Cindy replied as she tried to find any possibilities on who this person might be.

She didnt have any secret admires and her husband died in a car accident. She was curious to know who this could be.

They all went into the kitchen and did their rituals. The boys made the table while the girls were preparing the drinks as Cindy made sure the meal was done.

Cindy looked herself over one last time on the big mirror as her kids pushed the door open. They all stood at the door with their mouth open.

Close you mouth now, you dont want to catch any flies, Cindy said turning around to look at her kids.

Whoa mother! Youre Gorgeous, Josh said walking into the master bedroom.

You look like a princess mother, said Martha holding Katherines hand.

Well thank you. Whomever Im meeting knows my taste and size really well, Cindy said grabbing her purse.

Mother, are you sure you dont want us to come with you? Katherine asked as they all went down the staircase.

Yes honey. Your grandmother made your favourite meal and as soon as Im done at the garden, Ill go over and eat, alright? Cindy said turning around.

They all said their goodbyes and Cindy went outside. She got in her car and drove away not knowing what to expect. She arrived at the park faster then she wanted. She drove to the entrance and a man came to the car as she stopped. The man asked her name and after she replied, he asked her to get out of the car.

Cindy did as she was told and watched the man drive away before he parked her car. Someone tapped on her shoulder and she turned around. Another man handed her a single white rose. Cindy smiled at him. She looked down and saw a note was attached to it.

A white rose for peace
Please go to the roses section

Cindy frowned. She shrugged and went into the garden and followed the signs. She arrived there and a man smiled at her and gave her a red rose.

A red rose for love
If you can find love and forgiveness,
Please go to the pond.
If not, never forget that Ill always love you

Cindy gasped at what she read. Tears came to her eyes as she walked towards the pond. She had mixed emotions and she didnt know what was going on. She saw a yellow rose on the concrete seat and picked it up.

A yellow rose for patience
Please read the letter that is under the rock.
You have the chance to choose our future.
Ill always love you no matter what you decide.

Cindy sat down hard on the seat and just stared at the notes she just got. Her brain told her to run home, but her heart told her to read the letter and then decide what to do.
