Discussion Night
What would you do if...?
Well, the night got off to an unusual start with us having to move downstairs due to a double-booking of the back hall, but other than that, it was NIYM as usual! We hurriedly moved all of our stuff downstairs and put up signs directing people to our new place! We threw some beanbags around the place to make it more cosy.

Seeing as it was Judy's birthday (and she wanted to celebrate it with us), she wanted to provide us with dinner, so she bought several pizzas for us for dinner. Thanks Judy! You're awesome!
After dinner, we had a couple of games from Prina. The first was an interesting version of pictionary where the people drawing were blindfolded. Their teams had to guess what the drawings were! They came up with some interesting scrawls! In the second game, Prina gave each person a piece of paper with the name of an injury on them. We taped out an area as a "safety zone." Then, when she yelled out "Bomb!", everyone had to act out the injury on their piece of paper as if they had been hit by a bomb! They had to try and get themselves to the "safety zone," and they also had to try and get the other members of their team into the "safety zone." That one  had some fun results too! click here to see the photos of the game.

Then, I spoke on the subject of servanthood. I tried to focus on what the true heart of serving others is rather than the need for it - using Jesus Christ as the ultimate example. You can read a basic rundown of my message by clicking here. After my message, we broke up into 4 discussion groups. My message and our discussion were based on Philippians 2:3-8. To read the basic discussion outline, click here. When the discussions were over, we got a spokesperson from each group to share the conclusions from each group. We had some great answers from each group. Then, I summed it all up showing how even though Jesus is our example - it is not something that we can do without His grace and enablement, and we need to seek His strength and love to act in us and through us.

Finally, we did something special for Judy seeing as it was her birthday. We surprised her with a birthday cake and card, which we had striven to keep secret all evening! Click here to see those photos.
