It was a really great night. We had 47 people there altogether! When people came into the room, they had to take off their shoes - to get them into Japan mode! They were given a letter, and for an icebreaker, they had to find people with other letters that made up the names of Japanese cities. That would place them in their groups for the evening.
After a fine meal cooked by our Japanese exchange students eaten Japanese-style on the floor, we broke up into groups and went around four different stations where we learnt about language, culture, a Japanese game, and sushi-rolling!
Finally, we had Mikki, one of our Japanese exchange students, get up and share a little of what God has done for her in English, followed by a Japanese school teacher from NCC who said the whole thing in Japanese! |
