Friday, December 3rd @ 7:15 p.m. Social Duplicate BridgeAll players (both couples and single) are welcome.

Sunday, December 5th @ 9:30 a.m. - Walk With Us Angela Dimmitt will lead us on our next adventure. Angela is an avid birder and gardener. Bring binoculars. She will surely enlighten all who attend. Meet at the JCCS.

 

Saturday, December 4th @ 11:00 a.m.Kids Cook With Adrienne - Once again Adrienne Sussman, owner and chef of Adrienne in New Milford, will conduct a cooking class for children in our JCCS kitchen. On the menu are traditional Hanukah treats – latkes and cookies.

The class is set for Saturday, December 4th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Adrienne has asked that participants be at least 10 years old. (We will be working with hot oil and the oven.)

We will gladly welcome some volunteers to help supervise and clean up in the kitchen. Of course, our volunteers get to eat the goodies too!

Donation: $15.00 per Student. Contact the JCCS office to enroll and pay the day of the class.

 

Sunday, December 5th @ 10:30 a.m.The Yiddish Language Group - The session is hosted by David Marks. Anyone wishing to participate should just be at the JCCS at the scheduled time.

 

Sunday, December 5th @ 10:30 a.m.- Parlez vous Francais? - Lys Reeman and Liliane Hart will host the French conversational group. If you’ve studied or spoken French in the past and would like to refresh your skills, this relaxed setting may be just the place to do so.  Please notify the office if you plan to attend. 

 

Sunday, December 12th @ 3:00 p.m. – Family Hanukah Party Slated - We are hosting a Family Hanukah Party at the JCCS on Sunday, December 12th from 3p.m. to 4:30p.m. Join us and bring a guest as we celebrate the holiday with our friends and families.

We will have music and serve soofganiyot (jelly doughnuts) and levivot (latkes or potato pancakes). Everyone is asked to bring a Hanukah menorah and candles if they have them. At sunset we will light all the candles at once (it will be the sixth night of Hanukah) creating a magnificent beacon to celebrate the Festival of Lights.

Donation: $5.00 per person. Please notify the office if you plan to attend so we can be sure to have enough treats on hand.

 

Saturday, December 18th @ 7:00 p.m. – Cinema & Supper – “The Mad Adventures of Rabbi Jacob” Louis De Funes stars in this celebrated comic treat, as a racist, anti-semitic businessman en route to his daughter’s weeding, who must disguise himself as a rabbi, which leads tone crazy, slapstick situation after another. Nominated for a best foreign film Golden Globe. “One of the funniest movies from any country”  

Please make reservations for Cinema & Supper by email or telephone no later than 12:00 noon on the Thursday before the event.

Admission for Dinner: Members - $12.00, Non-Members - $18.00. If you plan to attend only the movie portion of the evening, we would still appreciate reservations.

Friday, December 31st @ 9:00 p.m. – Ring in the New Year 2005 at the JCC! -

Please join us at the JCC for an informal potluck dinner and New Year’s party. Nothing too fancy, just friends coming together to mark the end of 2004 and ring in 2005.

Tell us what your best culinary dish is – and then make it! David Marks (The Wooden Chef) and Susi Leiter (The Garden Chef) will be coordinating the evening.  Other chefs are welcome.  BYOB.  There will be dancing and maybe a little show – we will keep you in the loop.
