Environmental Tobacco Smoke: also known as Second Hand Smoke....... Back in 1993 the Clinton  Environmental Protection Agency with Carol Browner as chair issued a report that said environmental tobacco smoke "kills 3,000 persons a year due to lung cancer." Since some intelligent conservatives challanged that report. A group, including Representative Henry Waxman, asked the Congressional Research Service to evaluage the EPA's study.

The report came out in Nov. 1995, and can be found
here. At page 55 we have "Finally, it is possible that very few or even no deaths can be attributed to ETS." And, at page 62, we find, "Therefore, had OSHA performed a meta-analysis it seems that it would have found no increased lung cancer risk from occupational ETS exposure."

And as if that were not enough, a federal lawsuit involving the EPA and the tobacco interests led to a similar conclusion in 1998 with the judge pointing out that the EPA reached its own conclusions before doing the research and that the results were more junk science rather than political science.

So here we have the Clinton EPA castigated not once but twice. And what did Carol Browner (and her liberal minions) have to say? "I stand behind the report."
Liberal logic's illogical.
Gun Control: Numerous studies show that the armed citizen is a safer citizen. Studies have shown that those who are armed are safer from violent crime than those who are not armed. I recall 12 years ago when Florida passed a law that made it easy for its citizens to obtain concealed weapon permits. The liberals went nuts, claiming that every day, every intersection would resemble "Dodge City"  where everyone would be shooting at everyone else. The net result of the law? Violent crime went down. Keep in mind that a little old lady has no real chance to defend herself against 240 pound bad guy ... unless she is armed. The use, or threatened use, of a firearm is responsible for preventing around 2,500,000 violent crimes per year. As Samuel Colt said, "Whenever danger threatens, no matter what the size; call on me. I will equalize." And, keep in mind the Second Ammendment to our constitution. For some reason, the liberals cannot find it, but have no trouble finding a "right to an abortion." Liberals ignore the facts, make up law, and consider it perfectly acceptable. Liberal logic's illogical.
Capital Punishment: This is one of my favorite subjects to bring up to liberals. A liberal finds no problem killing a baby in the womb (or 9/10 out of it in a partial birth abortion), but cannot bring himself/herself to execute a serial killer because society has no right to take a human life. The innocent is killed. The murderer spared. Liberal logic's illogical.
Failed Government Programs: Quick, name a government program that is efficient, economical and works well. The fact is that you probably cannot do it. Okay, maybe there are a couple, but I cannot think of them. But what do the liberals do when it is pointed out that a program is not working well? Do they ever suggest that the program be scrapped? Of course not. The liberal solution to failing and failed government programs is ... more money. And, if more money is spent and the program is still not working well, what do the liberals say? "More money." That is the liberal solution to every government program that doesn't work well. No wonder our government spending just keeps increasing and increasing and increasing. The program doesn't work well ... keep it and spend more money. Liberal logic's illogical.
Global Warming: The liberals insist we are in the midst of a global warming period that is going to destroy all life as we know it unless we do something. 50 years ago, the liberals insisted we were in the midst of a global cooling period that was going to destroy all life as we know it unless we do something. The fact is that there are many, many reputable scientists who doubt that global warming is really occurring. Like other pontifications from the liberals, they ignore contrary evidence and press ahead with their agenda. Is there global warming? Not necessarily. But to the liberal, it is very real. Liberal logic's illogical.
But don't just take my word for it.
