6/25/03 I saw Jason Mraz and Maroon 5 last night! Ha Ha! I hung out with Mraz and Toca after the show too! (Click here to see pic) That's right...I'm cool... Go ahead and be jealous! Those guys are seriously cool people! The show blew me away! JM's voice soars live and Maroon 5 is one of the tightest performing bands I've ever seen. They covered Nine Inch Nails "Closer" for an encore and blew the roof off the place! Yes sir! Kevin told some of the people hanging around afterwards that I was a solo performer from Boston because he's the biggest pimp ever! I took some pictures with people and they said they'd definitely come to Boston and check out a show. Mraz found out I was a musician and we talked a little shop and took some pics together as well as with other people. We all made friends last night! It felt like Kev and I were part of the crew! It was brilliant! Jason said he heard some of Howie Day's new album in London and said it was amazing! He went on about it... I can't wait! I gave my email address to a nice girl who took most of the pics... I hope she comes through! Thanks in advance! I'm so inspired to finish my demo now! I was getting down about it, but I think talking to those guys brought me back to life! Sometimes you forget what your working for... You know? Don't ever forget... -JC

4/30/03 Whats new? I'll tell you whats new... The new Howie Day Madrigals EP that came out yesterday! That's what! Best $5.99 I ever spent! The DVD that comes with it is Quality! I highly recommend! I also saw Matt Nathanson on Saturday at the Paradise here in Boston... Wow...that was the best live performance I have ever witnessed! I heard Matt shaved a kid's head into a mullet on stage in Philly! Classic! Last Monday night @ Hennessey's was really fun! I got to play a bit of a new original and those who stuck around got to hear my version of Paranoid Android a la Radiohead. As much fun as it is to kick it solo acoustic, I can't wait to play with drums and bass! I'm practicing really hard every Sunday with a couple of guys to try and put it together. Sundays are always so nice and sunny and I'm always in a practice room with no windows in Charlestown! Just check www.boston.com to see for yourself...this Sunday will be no different! I really want to have a CD to hand out by June... It will happen! I have plenty of music...just need some more lyrics and proper arrangement...which takes time. None of my friends seem to understand that I have to be a loser with no life to be able to finish any sort of quality demo... That means no beer pong this weekend... :( By the way...people who buy Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds tickets for Amherst,Mass for $50 and sell them on EBay for $420 10 minutes after the concert sells out should be pulverized into a fine powder! I hate how people's ability to get tickets before fans can make them money! Peace out, JC

3/4/03 Well, You have to start somewhere. You always have to start somewhere. And once you start, will you gain enough momentum not to stop? Thats the real question. I was reading an interview with my new hero, Matt Nathanson, where he explains that the key to the music industry is to be too stupid to stop. You never really know what will happen from one day to the next just from doing it every day. There are weeks where every time you play there's another gig coming your way, or you're invited to play with this amazing band with a huge following, or you're invited to open for a band at their CD release. And then there are weeks where you're tired everyday and you don't feel like playing or writing and it seems like a drag...but when you get through those times its worth it. Its all about momentum. Its like sitting on the couch after a long day and having a bag of cheeze puffs in front of you...that bag doesn't stand a chance! Momentum my friend! Once you start you can't stop...even when you're fingertips are nice and orange! And sometimes you have to keep the momentum going yourself. I'm not so good at that. Everything I've done so far has been from other people hooking me up. Its time to get to work! Thanks Kevin, Lisa, John, Noel, Mick, Nick, P-nit, TJ and Marc for getting this going. Cheers, JC
