Jonathan is having an excellent year. In January, Make a Wish Foundation granted him a Disney Cruise. He met many characters and enjoyed the ports that we visited. He was very attentive and enjoyed the broadway-like productions on the cruise. He is still receiving four to six hours of ABR therapy a day. In addition, overnight he’s on a machine for ABR therapy, to compliment what we do. Since the start of his therapy he has improved. Turning his head and looking in the direction of a familiar voice, babbling and some control over his hand and arm movements. We are also investigating at other cutting edge therapies that will help him.

Of the many medications he’s currently on, 3 have been reduced and will soon be eliminated. . He continues to stay healthy even through last winters flu season. (because of his allergies he could not get the flu shot) Now that winter is behind us Jonathan started water therapy at an indoor facility. He loves the water so much he’s doing it twice a week. Yvonne joins him for her swim lessons in the same pool . Jonathan is signed up to go to a regular preschool in September. We can’t wait for him to be around kids his age , listening, interacting and observing them talk, laugh, play with him and with each other.

We found out through the California Encephalitis project that there were a few kids in Northern California that had the exact symptoms as Jonathan. . Some of the kids after a few years are walking, talking and eating again. We don’t have anymore details about those kids but we are working on it. We have contacted some lawyers about setting up a foundation, to help Jonathan and other kids with similar challenges it is a lengthy and expensive process …. but we know it will be rewarding.

September 5, 2008 is Jonathan’s Second Annual Golf Outing at the Bucks County Country Club in Jamison, PA. This year the organizers have arranged a fantastic event for golfers of all skill levels.
