Samuel
S. Tindall,
the son of Mary and James H. Tindall, was born in South Carolina
about 1812. Samuel married (first)
Mrs. Amanda (Platt) Woodward, the widow
of William Woodward who died in 1833.
Samuel and Amanda had no children.
Amanda died on April 21, 1837.
In
1837, Samuel married (second) Camilla (her
last name has not been recovered).
Camilla was born about 1820.
According
to the 1840 Census of Sumter District,
South Carolina, Samuel S. Tindall was
born between 1820 and 1830. His
wife was born between 1815 and 1820.
They had one daughter born after 1835.
Samuel was employed in agriculture and
had four slaves.
According
to the 1850 Census of Sumter District,
Samuel (age 38) was a planter. Also
in his home were Camilla (age 29), Jane (age
12), Camilla (age 7) J. Burrell (age 5),
and Ann P. (age five months). All
were born in South Carolina.
Issue from second marriage:
1.
Mary Jane Tindall was born in Clarendon
County, South Carolina, on May 2,
1838. On March 22, 1855, Jane
married Harmon Henry Flatmon (1828-1911).
Jane died in Charleston, South Carolina,
on November 20, 1913. They were
buried in the Cain Run Cemetery in
Orangeburg, South Carolina.

Camilla Tindall was born in South
Carolina about 1842.
3.
James Burrell Tindall was born in South Carolina
on February 6, 1844. About 1868, he
married (first) Margaret Agnes Allen (1845-1896).
Margaret was the daughter of Agnes F.
Tindall and Washington Allen. After
Margaret's death, Burrell married again;
however, I have not been able to recover
her name. James died on May 4, 1927.
He was buried beside his two wives in the
Old Harmony Church Cemetery in Clarendon
County, South Carolina.

Ann P. Tindall was born in South Carolina
during the month of March in 1850.
