Here's the update from Doug:
"Diapers were on sale last week, so I bought another package even though I still had almost two full packages, but this time I bought size three. At the rate that they are growing, they will want the car keys soon. I have new nicknames for the twins. Michael is "Chuckles", because he is always smiling and laughing away. I call Michelle "Bubbles", because she like to bring copious amounts of saliva to her lips, and then blows through them, creating bubbles and a fzzzzzzz sound. She's so cute, although she still grunts occasionally. She is starting to chuckle a lot more too. They have begun to notice each other, smile, and sometimes even blow bubbles back and forth. It seems to be their way of communicating, although they are both developing a larger repertoire of sounds. Michelle doesn't use her soother as much as she did when she was young. Like Michael, she has found her fingers and hand to be quite tasty.

The past few weeks have been a little busier than usual. On the 21st, Michael and Michelle were baptised, along with a dozen other babies, at a local Roman Catholic church. On the 25th, I took Michelle in for her immunization shots. After the second needle, she cried for about three seconds, before restoring the smile to her face. While she was at the health centre, we also checked Michelle's stats. She now weighs 16 1/4 lbs., and stretches 24" long. She has gained over 10 lbs. in four months.
Today I took Michael in to the cardiac clinic for a check-up, but first they checked his stats. He is now 25 1/4" long, and weighs 17 lbs. He is a very happy, and healthy looking boy, looking from the outside. Unfortunately, the story isn't the same on the inside. His heart condition has not improved any, and may have even deteriorated slightly. His heart is operating "within acceptable limits", but it has not improved as the doctors hoped that it would. The doctors will only wait and monitor his condition, because at this point in time, the benifits of further surgery do not outweigh the risks. It is quite disheartening, especially since Micheal is developing so well in other areas, but I have to take solace in the fact that his doctors are some of the best in Canada, and without them, Michael wouldn't be here today."

They are planning on coming to visit me around Mother's Day. Isn't that nice? Also, I'm expecting some pictures soon and will post those as soon as I get them.

I recieved some beautiful flowers from Michael and Michelle for Mother's Day yesterday. I was so touched. It was such a nice surprise and I feel so lucky to be their surromom.

Here's an update from Michael and Michelle's Dad:

"Does it seem like 6 months have passed already? I can't believe how quickly the time has gone, which is really ironic because I have been awake for most of the time. Anyways, we took the twins in for their immunization shots on Thursday (Michelle's third shot, Michael's first). While we were at the health centre, the nurses also checked out the munkins' growth. Michelle is closing the gap. She weighs 19 1/4 pounds, and stretches 25 1/4" long. Michael tips the scale at 19 3/4 pounds, being 26 3/4" tall. They are both very happy babies. Michelle has taken up singing, although she sounds like Yoko Ono. Maybe we can get her interested in the piano instead. On Saturday I took Michael with me to my hockey team's wind-up barbeque. It was to be our first father and son outing, but I didn't get to spend much time with him. Everyone kept taking him away. On Thursday I will take Michelle with me to school for our last official day of the school year. I probably won't have Michelle for very long during her visit, but that really doesn't matter since Kay is going back to work next week, and I am about to become a full-time daddy for the next two months. Mayday, mayday."

I also have some more pictures, which I will put up soon, as soon as my computer starts cooperating with me again.
