Not much to report today. I guess this pregnancy is kind of on the boring side. Oh well, I prefer it that way.

Here's an update on the progress of the baby: right now it is about the size of a cherry. It has most of it's organs almost completely formed. It has eyelids that cover the eye completely. He looks almost human now, he just has a big head for his small body. The baby is still called an embryo until the end of next week and then it will be a fetus.
As for me, I'm spending my day trying to wash crayon "masterpieces" off my walls. You gotta love 2 year olds!! I went to fold laundry in my bedroom the other day and when I came out to check how the kids were doing I had crayon all down the hall, in the living room, and on the front door. I've tried a few things to get it off but nothing is working!

Today I had the biggest surprise. It all started last night when I noticed I had started bleeding. I went to the emergency room worried that something was wrong with the baby. After waiting many hours (about 4) the doctor finally checked me. He said that since I hadn't passed any clots, and I didn't have any cramps, and my cervix was still closed, everything was probably alright. But to be on the safe side he ordered an ultrasound for the morning to make sure the baby had a heartbeat.
I went in for my ultrasound this morning knowing that everything was probably going to be fine. But I was looking forward to getting my first glimpse of this little guy. The technician worked with the screen away from me. She told me there was a heartbeat so I could relax but she had to check some things with the radiologist. When she came back with the radiologist they did another quick scan and then turned the screen to me. There were 2 babies!!! I couldn't believe it! They went on to tell me my bleeding looked fine and it wasn't affecting the babies at all. So I should have a healthy twin pregnancy from here on.
My bleeding has pretty much stopped and so I am relieved. I had some light bleeding like this when I was pregnant with Tayler so I know everything will turn out just fine.
I told IF over the phone that he was going to have 2 babies. It was really a great moment for me. Of course he was excited, shocked, thrilled, scared, speechless, and probably a thousand other emotions that I probably would have to if I knew these were my babies to take home.
It's been such a wonderful day, and all of this came out of a scary situation.
I'm 9 weeks and 3 days pregnant with TWINS!!
I went to see Dr. L yesterday. I just phoned her office to see when I should come in next time and tell them about the twins and they made me come in that afternoon. She told me that I will see her up until 28 weeks and then I will have alternating appointments with the specialist. She will be at the birth, but the specialist will be the one to deliver the babies.
Now I can't donate the cord blood either. I really wanted to do that, but it's one of the rules that if there is more than one baby, I can't do it. I'm not sure why, but that's the way it is.
I'm going with my mom to buy a few maternity clothes today. I squeeeeeeeezed myself into my jeans yesterday to go to the doctor, but I thought I'd die before I got home!
Dr. L also scheduled me for another ultrasound on July 3rd. And here I thought my first ultrasound wouldn't be until 18 weeks!! I'm really glad I get more--that's the funnest part of pregnancy, seeing those little guys on the screen. Of course it will still be too early to find out the sexes. My new gender guess (since I have to guess 2 now!) is that it is either a boy and a girl or 2 boys. I KNOW one of them is a boy because of the way I feel.
I was reading back 4 days ago on June 1st and it says how my pregnancy is boring HAHA! Not anymore!!

June 5, 2001 (again)
I got some maternity clothes today and boy do they feel a lot better! I went into the store and the lady that worked there asked me, "So you are about 4 or 5 months right?" Ummm, no, just 2!! I didn't think I looked that big, maybe 3 or 4, but not 5 months.
The lady also told me that with twins I will have to get one set of clothes for the first six months and another set for after. That's what I planned on doing anyway, since I will be pregnant in the summer and winter.
