31 Weeks
November 19, 2002

I had my prenatal check-up with Dr L today, well it was actually a student Dr today but she was very nice and Dr L came in at the end to see how things were going.. Everything went well. I've gained a total of 10 1/4 lbs, half of which has been in the last month---guess I should lay off the halloween candy!!! My blood pressure is fine and the baby is actually measuring right on track now (he did a major flip last night so not sure how he is laying anymore but I guess it's in more of a normal position now instead of way up high).

It was hard for us to get a heartrate just because this little guy is so active. The Dr asked if I could feel movements from the baby regularly and I said "All the time, he doesn't stop moving." She giggled and gave me a look like I might be exagerrating. But when she found the heartbeat, he gave a swift kick and turned over, so she had to find it again. Then within a second or two of finding it he flipped around again. This continued on until she gave up! So we know he has a heartbeat and it sounds normal, just not quite sure how fast it is! I had my kids with me for the first time and they were so excited to hear the heartbeat. I told them before we got there that we would hear Debbie and Henry's baby's heartbeat and when they actually heard it their eyes got really wide and Tayler's mouth even dropped, it was very cute.

It's not quite time for me to go every 2 weeks yet, but she didn't want to go a whole month since I'm close to that time, so I go back in 3 weeks and then after that every 2 weeks.

I had to go get my RhoGAM shot today as well. I have to go to the hospital to get it, but at least I was prepared for it today, unlike last year when I was pregnant with the twins. Last year everyone told me to go to the wrong place and I ended up having to walk across the whole hospital a couple times which was not fun as I was hauling around about 9 or 10lbs  of baby at the time! But this time I knew where I was going so it wasn't a huge hassle. The kids watched the nurse give me the needle in my hip and Caylen was giving her dirty looks the whole time. I think she thought the nurse was being mean to me, hehehe. But actually it was the best one I've gotten so far, didn't hurt at all.

Still feeling good, not any complaints at all.

Deb and Henry are away on vacation this week. Deb asked me to write just a little short email everyday so when she gets a chance she can check her email and see that I'm doing ok. So I've done that 2 days in a row now and will continue to do that all week. I think it's cute that she wants to check in to see how me and the baby are doing, but I think she'll be having to much fun on her holiday to find time to get on the computer :-)

Time is sure passing quickly. D&H will be back from vacation tonight already, it will be nice to catch up with Deb, I"m used to talking with her a few times a day! Although she did manage to get to a computer a few times while she was away to send me a quick note about how things were going.

So the baby has a name, but I'm not allowed to share what it is, hehehehe. They picked out a name before the vacation so that if this little man happened to be born while they were away I'd know what to call him. But they have reserved the right to change it again before I deliver if it doesn't happen while they are away (and they get back tonight so I'm positive it won't!) so they don't want me writing his name all over the place if that's not what it ends up being..

I'm feeling great. Baby is still kicking and kicking and kicking!

It's hard to come up with lots of updates when this pregnancy has really gone so well. I'm very thankful for that! I'd, of course, much rather have a "boring" journal than have lots of problems popping up.

I took a little home video of this little gymnast last night. I'm going to send it to Deb and Henry so they can see exactly what their son likes to do to me, hehehe. I knew if I laid down in bed the baby would start kicking up a storm, so I had the video camera ready. For about 10 seconds it was quite still and I thought perhaps it would be the one time he'd be still, but after that he didn't disappoint me! I found it quite funny to watch, it looks like I'm in the middle of an earthquake he is moving so much. I only taped it for about a minute or 2, but he is like that most of the day and night. I think he may be quite the handful :-)

And with that bit of tape I will also FINALLY send D&H the u/s video and pictures. I've been holding off sending them in the mail thinking I'd give all of it to them when we got together, but we just haven't been able to get together for a couple months now. We just can't seem to match up our schedules. I know we will get together before the holidays, but I think they've waited long enough to see those things so I'll just send them.

I took some pictures again last night.
Click here to see the album. My belly is definitely getting bigger, and it's now getting to the point where I"m wondering exactly how big it's going to get! But then I look back at pictures of when I was carrying Michael and Michelle and I remember that I can stretch a whole lot more than what I'm stretched to now.
