Granny Grimes Good Bar B Q Sauce

Heat 1/3 cup of corn oil in a heavy skillet, add med. Onion, minced & cook over low heat till tender. Stir in ½ cup each: catsup, water, & fig preserve syrup. If you don't have any syrup left over from canning figs, then use Karo Blue Label Syrup. Add 1/3 cup of vinegar, 2 tsp. salt & prepared mustard & Worchester sauce. Add 2 tsp. salt & ½ tsp. pepper. Simmer 15 minutes. Makes 2 ½ cups. If you make this at fig canning time, then you can use all the extra syrup you never know how to get rid of, and save money too!
