AUNT BETTY'S CANDIED YAMS

4 or 5 fresh yams, peeled and cut into big pieces, or you can use a 2 pound size can of yams
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 stick oleo

If using canned yams, pour juice into the pot, if using fresh, put about 1 1/2 cups water and all other ingredients in the pot. Boil till tender, remove yams and cook syrup till thick. Pour over yams in bake pan, cover with marshmallows and brown under the broiler. If using canned yams, make syrup and cook till thick, then add yams and then only heat.
