Aunt Bea's Brown Sugar Cookies

1 1/3 cups shortening
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups flour
2 1/2 cups brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 teaspoon soda

Mix all ingredients. Drop by teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 400 until brown. When cookie spreads in oven, sprinkle colored sugar on each cookie and continue baking till done. She is gone but never forgotten.
