David's Different Oatmeal Cookies

1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tablespoon syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla

Mix together:

1 3/4 cups flour
1teaspoon soda
dash of salt
3 cups oatmeal

Combine all and chill before baking. Drop by teaspoon and bake at 350 till brown.
