GRAND-PA'S FRUIT COBBLER
1 can of fruit
1 can of water
1 cup of sugar
Bring these to a boil. In separate bowl, combine:
1 cup of flour
1 cup of sugar
1 tsp. of baking powder
1/2 cup of milk
1 tsp. of salt
Melt 1 stick of oleo in bake pan. Pour crust mix over oleo. Pour fruit mix over crust in the pan. Cook in a hot oven at 400 to
425 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes. Reduce the heat to 350 degrees and bake till done. You can use fruit cocktail, sliced
peaches, chunky pineapple, or whatever fruit you like best, or mix it up. When he cooked it for the tugboat crew, he had to fix
this at least twice a week.
